Buyer Beware of rack'em zach'em

Smokey, they have a point.

No more posturing. Regardless of what you are capable of, leave the internet tough at the door and allow me to handle this side of the matter.

I believe the staement was not meant as a genuine threat, however, this will be your only warning.

Make no more threats, can you agree?

Lets keep this in perspective people,

Someone threatening physical harm, is more alarming to me than someone being sleazy and misrepresenting a cue.

I concur with NYC cue dude, http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=942073&postcount=42

and also with JCIN, http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=943093&postcount=59

Both well articulated posts that pretty much say it all.

thanks,

Matt B.

I have to agree with all 3 of you here. This is ridiculous and alarming. Some people don't take threats like this very lightly and can be the beginning of something quite ugly.

As JCIN points out very well, we are talking about $50 here. I feel badly for Bill Porter, but he hardly made any death threats over it and i'm sure he has had worse things in life happen.

Zach has ranted about many things on this forum. He is not an altogether bad guy, he just has a problem with thinking with his mouth open. I don't condone his methods by any means and I've been mad at him too, but, never thought about killing him.

Now that this is cooling off, I can't help but laugh a bit though. Of all the people who have been banned, I don't remember anyone begging for it as much as Zach did.

Let me get this straight.

Dude who has a history of being hard to deal with misrepresents a cue. He gets called on it and confirms his reputation of being hard to deal with. Fine, now everyone knows not to deal with him and that he is arrogant and hard headed.

He gets banned for 6 months. I agree whole heartedly. He deserves all the bad juju he has coming.

But.

A dude THREATENS HIS LIFE and everything is cool.

Am I missing something here? Since when are threats of bodily harm over a $50 cue deal allowed? That is ridiculous in the extreme. I know which of the 2 concerns me more, and it ain't the guy who sends a nicked up shaft. It is the self appointed AZ executioner who will have his "people" make sure a guy "never returns" from Vegas because of something he read on a message board.

Smokey my friend you are so far out of line it is stunning. What on earth makes you think this community needs you to issue death sentences on fraudulent cue dealers? Everybody hates bad deals, but good lord, are you serious?

The threat of "never return" is just stupid. I hope you never have someone unsatisfied with a deal and have some random guy threaten your life.

Unbelievable.

Man, oh man. Doesn't anyone hit someone in the face with a pie anymore ?

I want to thank everyone for your overwhelming support. What a great community.

I have some good news. Zach and I have resolved the situation. He sent me a $50 refund and an apology. We exchanged a few e-mails on friendly terms and I'm satisfied.

It never occured to me that Zach was already on probation and would be banned (albeit temporarily). Mr. Wilson, do you feel it's appropriate to lift the ban, now that we have a resolution?

Thanks to the AZBilliards admins for implementing the iTrader feedback system.

Thank you to BillPorter for adding your comments about your situation.

Thank you to Doug@patrickcues, JWPetree, and Slasher for their generous offers. Since Slasher is local to me, I will take him up on his offer.

JWPetree -- your reputation is second to none. Glad to see everyone chiming in to state it. Sorry to hear of your personal situation. I hope it takes care of itself as soon as possible.

Again, thank you to everyone.

Glad the matter was resolved but we still dont need sellers or members who behave this way.

Desert anyone?

Smokey, they have a point.

NYC cue dude - did i threaten violence, i do not feel i did, and for sure that was not my intention. i feel that was an assumption on your part, but i can understand how you came to that conclusion and for that i am responsible and i apologize. And you said it best, in your words: "What we are, is a devoted group of civilized pool enthusiasts. We look out for each other, but at all costs, we remain both respectful and civilized". Your post was excellent.

JCIN - it seems that you carried this conclusion even further. but okay its more my fault than yours, so please forgive and forget.

MBnow & ironman - also, my apologies.

Mr. Wilson - yes, they do have a point. and thank you for hopefully seeing that there was no intention of a real threat of violence. and to your question, yes, I whole heartedly agree.

so in closing, sorry to this wonderful community for my post; and to shinobi and rack'em zach'em, glad it all worked out for you both.

happy thanksgiving!

A good thread

Can anyone explain what is involved to repair the problem with this cue. I have 2-very nice cues that have the same issue, and I don't really want to get them completely refinished. Other than the chipping at the joint, they are in very good condition.

This is a very good thread because the buyer was offered several options to resolve the issue by generous AZB members, and eventually the seller. A well respected cue builder was unfairly trashed, and several member responded in his support, including the builder himself, proving that he is a standup guy, and a good businessman. The seller was shown that his response became a larger issue than the original problem, and it was his ego that got him banned. Plus we got some funny ideas from Doug as usual

i really am surprised some people got so worried that Smkoey was actually going to kill someone.he made a casual joking reference to someone disappearing in Las Vegas,i and most others just assume he was joking around.
