Catching Up
I have a lot of catching up to do, so bear with me, if this seems a little long.
We can honestly say we've had great results with almost all our online business. Most of our transactions were on eBay (others were direct from our website) and pretty much all of our buyers and sellers have been very honest and reliable. Many of our customers are return customers. We are always glad to see them back.
There were only a few small incidents we've ever had any problems over. I had a customer write to me and tell me his cue was making a noise and then it broke. I told him to send it back to us and I'd make it good, if it looked like the material was flawed. The cue was in excellent condition (no dents or dings or blemishes in the finish) other than the break in the forearm. I practically rebuilt his cue, keeping the good wood, as he requested. He was very happy about the deal and posted a note on this forum about it.
In our early days of online sales, one guy said his cue broke and wanted to know what we were going to do about it. After a little discussion to find out the details, I asked him to return it to us and if it didn't look like it had been in a stomp-fest or a bar fight, I'd fix or replace it for him. He never wrote back, or sent the cue. The cue he bought was one I absolutely loved and hope his story was only a manner of finding out if we'd honor our work, or not, instead of really being broken.
One other time, we had a guy win an auction and send us his preferences for finishing the cue. We wrote him back, but he never replied to our message. A day or two later, he asked if we were ever going to let him know if we shipped the cue and acted like he'd never heard from us. He wrote again, within another day or so, and asked if we were ever going to reply to him. We had been responding and even sent him his tracking numbers, etc.. His cue was delivered on the second day he asked why we weren't replying and we never heard from him, again. We figured his e-mail was rejecting our messages, or something. The guy seemed nice enough, but anyone would get a little frustrated, if they put out a few hundred dollars and didn't seem to be receiving any correspondence from the party who received that money, so we didn't get too upset about that incident.
There was one seller, who auctioned an item and said it was one size, but when we received it, it was .005 off, which could not be used for the purpose I bought it for. When we mentioned the size difference, the seller basically said "Oh, I goofed, they are actually a different size than I advertise" but he didn't changed the info on his auctions for a long time. Recently I noticed he has made the correction. We were glad to see the change.
Overall, we've been very happy with our customers and our suppliers, of whom there are way too many to mention, but if they read this, I hope they'll know how much we appreciate them. As we are able to get out to more events in the future, we hope to meet these and many more.
