Calling Gabe Owen - 10 ahead

Funny you should say that. Every time I've seen someone challenge Gabe, they've ended up not liking it.

My thoughts as well Jay. It seems Gaber is one of those you don't like to give time to prepare and motivate himself.

And I am pretty sure that Efren will play Shane in one-pocket...

I know that Efren was (by all accounts probably is) one of the best 1-holers out there. Why would Shane not take this game? He has been working pretty hard on his game. Didn't recently play Tony even? I am probably off a little on this, but wasn't it at last years DCC that Shane wanted to play both Efren or Buste? They wouldn't match up so Alex manned up in a major way!

Even from my point with it in mind that Efren hasn't been very active as of late, Tony Plays good 1-pocket, but, there is still a hell of a difference in Efren and Tony with Efren having a strong edge. IMO Shane would need considerable weight.

What makes you think that Gabe will play Marcus 10-Ball? He may not like that game. Gabe may prefer to play some One Hole. I'm sure that Marcus can find someone who will play him 10-Ball at DCC. But then again, he may not like THAT game.

Good point. Asked Buddy about John Deere... something about women right? Funny.

I'm sure Marcus is a good player. It appears he's feelin froggy too. Gabe is from my hometown. I've seen him grow into a STRONG player. If I had one word to describe Gabe, it would be an 'ICEBERG'.

If you were a cruise ship sailing through the waters, you'd want to be looking out above AND below the water.

I think Marcus is a better rotation player then Gabe, but Gabe would destroy him in one pocket, as far as last years DCC, Efren didn't want to play Shane 8,9, or 10ball, and Shane said no way to one pocket, Busty wanted to play Shane but he was to busy winning the All around title, Thats when Alex stepped in and played.

Just talked to Marcus Chamat,...was interested in playing a 10-ball match against Gabe Owen, for atleast $ 10 000, 10 ahead...

The problem is that the match would last longer than the Derby considering Marcus and Gabe are both capable of very slow play. Sweators would need toothpicks to prop open their eyelids.

You did ask him, didn't you? Naughty boy! ;)

Unless you are from Wichita Kansas you are mistaken about where Gabe is from.
He was born & raised in Wichita where his father still lives & his mother lives about 40 miles away.
But your assesment of Gabe is right on.

The most likely suspect in this group would be John I would think. You know how to reach him. Hook it up D man!

I think a ten ball match with Marcus and Lee Van Corteza would be a lot more fair than with Gabe.

Cool if John and Marcus would go for it!

That would be awesome. I think I would prefer not to bet on the outcome of a match between those two. I think it would be close, with a small advantage to John, especially if it is a race. Marcus has a better chance of winning the cash if it is played as ahead, imo, but John will still be the favourite.

Well, I know YOU would like to play little Nasty a race in 10-ball, that's for sure! :)

What makes you think Marcus wants to play a guy who beat SVB a couple of times for the cheese? I'm thinkin' NOT!

I am with you on this one Lee Van seems to be a monster cash player and a great player in general. The first time I seen him on youtube I loved his style a lot.

Get rid of the pipe.

Why would John S. not be a BIG favorite against Chamat?

Chamat has won plenty of tourneys, but I don't believe he's won a major title and John is playing as good as anyone in the world right now. Great talent, but has Marcus won anything of note outside of Europe?

Gabe and Marcus would be close maybe, I'd have to say Schmidt would be favored by a minimum of 10-15 games in a race to 100 against MC.

Its not my money though, so get it happenin'...

Edit: how about Stevie Moore against Chamat? anyone guess how that would end up race to 100?
2nd edit: didn't see stevie m listed in first post. sorry. Still think it would be interesting.
