Sure could!

I love the old micarta ferrules that go brownish orange and currently play with the micarta that Runde uses which is a creamy beige color and I love it. Actually not a huge fan of the stark white anymore after using micarta for a while.

These brown ferrules reduce the light deflection off the end of the shaft. These low light deflection shafts, LLDS, are very expensive but are guaranteed to improve your aim by 20%. I would run out and pay the $400 for this hi tech shaft but a 20% improvement In my game still won't get me to the 8 Ball.

I agree. Old micarta has the nice color to it

It's cheating

It's a move plain and simple. Lassiter used to color his with a magic marker. Said
it helped him aim or some BS, it was a move to shark his opponent, if never missing
a ball wasn't enough. Now I have to fade some guy with run out patches all over
his shirt, a chalk holder on an elastic band that he retracts into his pocket every
time I reach for it, a case big enough for a refrigerator, that holds a different cue
for every shot, extensions, scuffers, and God knows what else. I'm so intimidated
and embarrassed that I know I'm done when he pulls out his lag cue, and now a
brown ferrule. So I think what the hell is that. It's ugly as a mud fence, it must be
some sort of miracle ferrule.NO FAIR NO FAIR play right or go home.

This was fantastic!

I'd like to make a shaft with a ferrule that has a LED that gives off different light with each shot. This should shark 'em!

Even with LSD colors?

One time at a tournament, a Ron came up to me and tells me,'man, I am tripping my nuts off right now'...followed by a stressed out deep breath.

I watched him for the day- not babysitting, entertainment- and he went on a table and played alone, off handed, and didn't miss but a handful of balls for like a half hour plus.

Pretty sure lsd colors are the secret.

You ain't getting no patent on that though. Nice try.

Ferrules are meant to be white just like pool tables should be 9 footers.

Meh. Lots of old housecues have black ferrules. I have a black ferrule shaft on order. Nice contrast to the cueball, less reflections off the ferrule, etc...

From a merely aestetic viewpoint I agree with you. But I don't really care. I want whatever helps me put balls in the pockets. I'd play with a brown ferrule as well, if I felt it was better somehow.

I prefer ferrules such as micarta because they are different colored than the cue ball. I hate ivory as it tends to blend in to the cue ball. I want that contrast when lining up on the stroke.

So yes, I could play with just about any color.
