Car Jacking Jimmy Wetch

What a sad story. I really hope he gets JR back. I hate friggin thieves. We should really consider allowing cruel and unusual punishment in some cases.

This is breaking my heart. I find myself checking back on this thread every few minutes in hopes of finding good news. :(
Anyone who's in the know, please keep us informed.

man i hope this doesn't throw the thread off too much but do you gun enthusiasts really shoot people or do you just talk all that tough guy talk. i've seen people get shot and been shot at myself. it no good i tell you that much

I have shot and hit 3 people that I know of...not sure about a few more that got away. I've been shot twice. Johnnyt

As an Englishman I'm really not a fan of guns, whoever is holding them. I prefer the old fashioned methods, if someone took off with my dog I'd want to rip the bastards throat out.

I hope this story has a happy ending, because it makes me mad as hell just reading about it.

This is one of the reasons that everyone should be able to carry a gun in plain site. At least then the thief knows its not easy pickings. And please if you shoot them, kill them, otherwise some poor nurse will have to be stuck with them. Been there done that and wanted to finish the job with a needle myself. Johnnyt

stray bullets don't exist right ?

time for technology to catch up to crooks

Man wouldnt it be nice to have a device on you that if your car was in a mile radious of you could press a button and wama..car shuts off and wont start. It just seem like the good guy , the guy that has the old hound dog in his car is the guy that suffers. I am a legal gun carrier and ex officer. I live in Va..which is a open carry state. Virginia too has addopted the Castle Law. However it doesnt allow you the freedom that you think. I dont think that it would apply in this situation. The castle law prevents you from having to have looked for a way out or flee from aposing danger. I may be wrong. I havent taken the time to read up on the castle law. You can make a stand, but it doesnt give you free range to use deadly force. Sorry guys even civilians are held in check by what we officers are held in check by... the the force continum

Got away what're you chasing these guys down? ha really man i lived in a rough neighborhood and i did a few years in the corps. there's very few situations that can't be resolved without shooting people. Self defense is one thing but when you think about it man why're you defending your self so much

1) Was his car unlocked?
2) If not, was the window left part way down for JR?
3) What kind of dog is JR?

In Kansas, it is against the law to leave an animal unattended in a car, but I am a big dog lover, and I hope they get the SOB!

Walden awhile back (pre IPT) has his car stolen and all his cues, etc.. in Arkansas.

They didn't get the dog though. The dog was driving.

I am so sorry for your loss Jimmy. I hope you get him back, I know how much you love him.

This is terrible news. What a rotten world this is where assholes can do crap like this.

All the best Jimmy and wishing that you are able to recover from this!!!!!!

i agree, i dont carry a gun all the time, i bring my body guards out with me in Vegas who do, in LA i'm unknown so I can go out alone-Vegas I cant for alot of reasons not related to pool, so I have armed body guards go with me to the pool room at night during the day I dont, and I dont have any $$$ etc.

Man it doesn't suck any worse than that. Jimmy is a real nice guy too... I had to play him my third match the first time I played in the Open. What kind of dog was it?

Sorry if I gave the impression that I thought the Castle Doctrine would apply in this situation. It DOES apply in many carjacking incidents, which was very common here in Detroit a few years ago. A concealed pistol carrier cannot draw or shoot his weapon in Michigan to protect property, including pets. His or someone's life must be threatened.

In 45 years of the shooting sports and being around guns, shooting ranges, and now being a CPL holder I have never pointed a gun at anyone much less shot anyone. It would have to be a case of my life or someone near me being directly threatened with deadly force in order for me to do so, and that would even be difficult, but if it were necessary I am prepared to do it.

Criminals in states with 'Right To Carry' laws now know that many citizens are legally armed. It has contributed to a reduction in crime in every single state where it has been enacted...Tom

They have had a gadget for years that hooks to the gas line that the car stops in a few hundred yards. You have to remember to turn it off when you park. Also they have one for the ignition thats on a timer. I think you can set that one to shut down in 30 seconds. Johnnyt

Good luck getting your dog back jimmy. Everyone around Memphis knows Maggie (germad shepard) at my pool room. Nothing like a good pool room dog. I FEEL FOR YOU!! BILL ROWSEY

BRING BACK JUNIOR!

I am praying every day for the safe return of Junior. I have disseminated this story to my industry forum, and everybody there has Junior and Jimmy in their prayers.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE post back to this thread if Junior is found.

It makes me so sad.

Couldn't agree more, JAM. No reason not to let Jr. go safely. He can't ID the creep. Best of luck, Jimmy. I let Reed know.

I grew up in the ghetto.. and Ive seen some really bad things.. problem is.. its getting worse and worse.. and its spreading.. where I live..a cop gets shot or shot at on a weekly basis.. people these days have no respect. I feel alot of it has to do with parenting. kids are growing up without any respect for anyone. As a parent, you even have to be carefull on how you punish your kids.. you may be arrested for something so simple as a simple beating.. YES i said beating..sometimes a beating is needed. and you cant even do that now. something needs to be done. I dont know what should be done..but someone has to do something..or we are all doomed. I dont feel sorry for myself.. I feel sorry for my kids, and their kids. They are the ones that will suffer.
this is so depressing.
