A Thanksgiving miracle...Jimmy is very fortunate.
Now if only Jr could lead them to the guilty.:D

Maybe they could check Junior's teeth for some DNA. :D

If they have some suspects they could have a line-up. Have them face the wall and have JR do his nose thing. I bet he would ID'em. They would have to squat because JR is a Weinner Dog. :D

Yay for Jimmy! That is the best news I've heard in a very long time. Jimmy is a great guy, and I'm sure JR is a great dog! :)

Here is a link that was on Craigslist.

I have been to Jimmy's a few times. Junior is a character of his own. Awesome dog. He runs the place. I remember years ago when Jimmy had the amateur challenges. The one night i was there, Jimmy put Jr in chair and told him to stay and he sat there for about 3 hours without whimpering or anything. Just watched Jimmy as he ran rack after rack.

Good to hear that he got him back. I look forward to seeing the two the next time I swing in there.

I've heard of old maids playing stoop tag in the asparagus patch but perv(p)s squating for a WEINNER dog is demented, even by my dubious standards.

Glad JIM got his best friend back....

I think everybody's emotions were running high over this thread. The part about the dog starring at him as the carjacking coward drove off, ripped the hearts out of a lot of people. I am still upset over a guy doing this to a 70-year old man and his dog, and the fact that the victim was a well known, elderly professional pool player, added to the despicable nature of this crime.

Jr. is safe, and a happy Thanksgiving to all. I can't wait for Mr. Wetch to respond on this forum. It will be interesting to hear his perspective on what happened, and how he feels now that Jr. is back.

Those pervs deserve whatever!!

TAP, TAP, TAP, to all you OTHER animal lovers for keeping this thread going. There are more of us than them. Just ask Michael Vick. And 12-18 months is not enough.

I am sure Jimmy and his family of friends are very appreciative of all the support he has received from kindred souls of this forum, some of whom he has never even met before.

BTW, I agree so much with your thoughts, Cuesblues. You couldn't have expressed them any better than I, with one small exception. Jimmy is not 70 years old quite yet. LOL! :D

Jimmy Wetch (born on April 23, 1968 in St. Paul, Minnesota) is an American professional pool player nicknamed "The Kid". He was at one time a feared road player, later becoming an accomplished tournament pro, having won or placed in numerous competitions. He was ranked fifth in the world by the Pro Billiards Tour (PBT) in 1996.

A little more about Jimmy Wetch: In his first pro event, the 1994 Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, he finished third, knocked out by the ultimate winner, dominant pro Mike Sigel with a score of 9 to 8. Later that year he took first place at the McDermott Masters and was ranked sixteenth in the world by the PBT and named their rookie of the year. In 1995 he won the Huebler Cup and in 1996 a major tour stop at Great Gorge, New Jersey, as well as three second-place finishes at tour events, including a tense 8-6 loss in the finals of the 1996 Camel World 9-ball Championship at the hand of the Magician, Efren Reyes. His PBT rank increased that year to fifth in the world.

Despite his success on the pro tour, Wetch couldn't make enough money on tournament purses alone. He said in a 1999 interview: "Back in 1996, I thought this game was going somewhere. We were on TV, we were making pretty good money. I was proud to be a pool player back then ... [but now] I'm just going to put more effort and time into my room.... The bottom line is, you gotta make money to survive. I don't want to be another statistic." Today Wetch lives in Eagan, Minnesota, not far from his pool room.

WELCOME HOME, JUNIOR!

Thank God that Jimmy got his dog back. I am a HUGE pet lover and was very upset with Jimmy's whole ordeal.
On a serious note, I think that it's time that AZB turned it's collective efforts in the direction of poolchic's puppies (pictured in post #60).
Doug
( I'm very concerned about THEIR safety from the unscupulous and also falling asleep after tomorrow's big meal(s) and dreaming about those puppies again )

Edited to ask: Are OUR posts going to be on OPRAH ? (I'm going to polish my good shoes, now)
