was considering a carolina custom and was just wondering a couple things.

how do they hit?

does it feel more butt heavy or is it more level?

i sold my schon and now i have my old mcdermott but i hate it because its to heavy in the back.

I looked them over and was very impressed. He didn't have a lot of cues on the table when I walked up but he had lots in the cases behind the counter. I got to see 30+ cues and every cue was built with high standards. The wraps were level with the clear, very shinny, and nice rings. The designs were different from cue to cue and were very nice. Wraps, woods, and color scheme matched great.
Great cues!

Can't go wrong with a CC.

your cue is butt heavy cause your cue have a weigh bolt in the back so if you order a new cue you have to tell a cue maker that try to make the cue the weigh you want but without the weight bolt in the butt. Most of a good cue maker can do that.Order a joseys cue or bob fry.I know they can.

I have both a Schon and C.C. and they feel very close in balance. I prefer playing with my C.C. as the deflection is more predictable.

I also switched from a Schon to a Carolina cue and they are very similar in feel and how they hit. Especially with their steel jointed cues. The butt diameter is standard so no problem there. And their customer service is absolutely top notch. And of course, their pricing for a custom cue is fantastic.

Those Carolina Customs seems very well constructed and it's almost impossible to beat the price!

Also, they come with Everests

you cant go wrong with a carolina. nice stiff hit. good feel. they are not butt heavy, but the butt is a little fatter than a schon and may take a little getting used to. bamajoe has an excellent looking 4 pointer for sale right now over in the wanted/for sale section.

How does one go about discussing a cue with them?

I was thinking, since i have never actually held one of their cues in my hands before i am not in the position to comment. So probably the best way is to get one for myself and find out. They do make some ridiculously cheap but good looking cue.

Give them a call.

These guys will build a cue customized to your weight and balance request. Fat or thin handles...really whatever you prefer. The one I have hits very well and is not thick in the back. They deliver a sound value.

I've been to Trevor's shop a few times .
He is a very serious full time cue maker always looking to build a better cue
At the rate he's going he is well on his way to becoming a "master" cue maker ! His prices are more than fair and under valued if you ask me .
I bet they won't be that way in 5 years or less !!

i got a chance to see one in person and it looked fu*king fantastic. it had an ob 1 shaft on it so i don't know what it would play like with a regular maple shaft. i think the ob1 might have made the weight shift a little more to the rear than it otherwise would have

i bought several of the cues and thought they hit great,i traded them for more collectable expensive cues, and one of the best players in town is playing the cue now.when we play one pocket we both use his cue and love it.i just ordered another one that i plan to keep.buy one you will probably think its the best cue you ever had

I bought one last year as a back up for my Hunter, the Carolina hits good, I had a schon before and thought the Carolina was weighted a little better. My is a 19oz, I am very happy with it.

i think from the sound of it im gonna like the cc cue.

im gonna buy the sneaky that i have been considering.

I don't think you will be disappointed. I bought a bacote SP a couple of months ago and I like the quality of their work and the hit. Their customer service is top notch as well.

I had a chance to look at some Carolina Cues at last year's US Open in Va. and I agree with what you said about them. I thought they looked nice and I didn't see any problems that would jump out at you. I was very impressed with a double strand (black with white speck & solid black side by side) linen wrap job on one of his cues. He had a special finish over the wrap and I couldn't get him to tell me what he did to make the wrap look and feel so good.

I don't know how they play because I haven't had a chance to hit with one of them, but they seem reasonably priced for what you get.
