I have a teammate named Sunshine on my 8-ball and 9-ball team. She loves pool...but the Harvard cue/K-Mart special she's playing with...just isn't doing her game any justice. So...a friend of mine and I are going halves on a cue together for us. I told my friend that I knew the perfect place to get a cue done for her...and so far, there's no reason to believe I wasn't right. I've worked with gentlemen at Carolina previously, and I decided to go back. The pic below is of the butt sleeve. Befitting of Sunshine's name, there's an abalone "sun" with red, orange, and yellow veneers radiating from it. Design repeated on opposite side of the butt. The cue will have a leather wrap, along with a maple forearm (can't remember if birdseye or curly) EDIT: It's an ebony on ebony. I'm a retard and can't even remember what my cue will look like. Four ebony points with yellow, orange, and red veneers. Ivory joint. I'll post more pictures as they come available. Can't wait to see the finished cue.

Heh. She better be. She doesn't even know this is coming. Hopefully it's in before Christmas. Would be a nice surprise. Otherwise I'm holding it back from her until the Expo
 
That's quite a nice thing for you two to do for your friend. Can't wait to see the final pics...should be a looker!
 
She's finished. Should arrive in the next day or two. I hope she enjoys it. Tremendous job done by the southern gentlemen once again.

CC Cues

That's a really awesome gift. And a really cool looking cue! Those flame veneers look like they are glowing! The guys at Carolina Cues do not dissapoint that's for sure. Looking forward to meeting you at the Expo.

Can't wait to meet you too brother. And yeah...you're right. The guys at Carolina...can make me a cue anytime. They're awesome. I have a couple ideas for more cues I want them to do for me...and I can't wait to have a chance to get them started.

Thanks for the thought Jeff. :-) You should definitely hook up with us at Sullivan's Friday night during the Expo...you could meet me and many others. Going to be a wonderful time.
 
I wanted to thank Alton Takata for the wonderful surprise I found in the mail today. Alton surprised me with a joint protector for the butt of this cue, via the mail. Just got it today. It's an ebony cap with matching rainbow rings that are found near the joint of the cue.

What a wonderful gesture. Thank you for your kindness Alton. You're the best.

No...the cue was my gift to her. The cap was all you Alton...and you'll get the credit too.

I can't wait to meet you and everyone else in Valley Forge. Should be an absolutely wonderful time.

What was the outcome? Did Sunshine get teary eyed when you gave her that beautiful cue? I bet that was probably her best X-mas present.

She was floored...no doubt. She's been playing the hell outta that cue too. The shaft is bluer than any I've ever had. LOL Atlon Takata (CueCaps) even made her a JP for the butt end for nothin'. A real kind gesture. Thanks for the rep Jeff. :-)

I found the pictures on my computer and re-uploaded them to photobucket. You should be able to see them now. :-)

Glad to here the good news Hayden. Good hearted people such as yourself & Alton are few & far between. My hats off to you guys. And I wish Sunshine the best with her new cue. Jeff
 
Thanks for fixing the pictures. I loved this cue when I saw it when you originally posted it and had it bookmarked. Do you know what species of wood is in the sunburst pattern on the buttsleeve? I really like the contrast of the red/orange against the black.
