I've been trying a different chalk each month to compare. I can't believe how bad Silver Cup is! I love Blue Diamond but I was surprised at how much I like the Triangle. I like it better than Masters. Please give your input.
Talking about new chalk, nothing retro.

The cube is slightly larger & it goes on easier so it lasts longer.

I haven't tried Triangle. Bring some to the next DPP so I can give it a spin. I noticed on the AZB marketplace they sell only green and (yuck!) red Triangle. Does it come in blue?
 
BD is the best Dogs, but I'm tellin' ya Triangle is good stuff and dirt cheap. I'll bring some.
 
I agree, triangle chalk is pretty good. Ive only tried BD a few times, and for the money, triangle is hard to beat.

Wow, I'm finding it hard to believe new Masters is beating Triangle on the poll. Maybe I just got a good batch of Triangle? Mine is more similar to BD than the Masters. Does anyone else feel the same?
 
I don't know how Silver Cup stays in business. That stuff is horrible.
 
If I remember correctly Silver cup chalk is the only chalk on the market that is still made with axle grease :wink:.
 
recently i bought two pieces of blue diamond to try and it covers very well so i used less. on piece lasted me about a month and a half with minimal removal of the higher edges once in a while. but i will say this, i noticed no performance advantage over good old blue masters chalk. i also have a piece of pre flag blue masters. again, i think it covers beter so i use less, but as far as more perfomance, sorry that's all a myth. silver cup seems to not cover the tip as well and therefore i have to chalk more frequently and when i am done playing it looks like i have been playing with a smurf's weenis and he let loose on my cue and hands. therefore i think that stuff is garbage. however as far as chalk goes, as long as i constantly put it on the cue there is, again, nor real performance gained or lost. just my ramblings.
 
You forgot Russian Magic Chalk...

I ordered a box of this just to try it out, and I think Magic Chalk is better than Blue Diamond. It seems to coat the tip better, which (for me) means it grabs the ball better.

I like Blue Diamond better than Master's chalk, but Russian Magic chalk is by far my favorite!
 
Alright, I want the 2 people that voted for the Silver Cup to identify themselves so I can report them to the authorities! This was a sting!

Actually, if you send me your address I'll send you my box. I'm not going
to use them. Might as well give them to someone that will.
 
Some great free advice

practice with Blue Diamond and gamble with Russian Billiards. Kamui tips and Russian chalk- just tear up the Pool halls cue ball, red,blue dot whatever Kind. Carry in your case the different chalks and your own measles cue ball. If you wish to play the best and hustle your opponents and gain an edge.!!! mark
 
I'm pretty sure that Triangle and Master's are the same chalk with different wrappers...Neither of them beats Blue Diamond, though.

And Silver Cup is absolute junk, imo.
