I think what Matchroom should do is elect a playing captain, and instead of payin a 6th member of the team, give the playing captain a little extra cheddar! So with $7500 going to each member, they give the captain $10,000, as an extra stipend for being captain! Also another idea would be to reward the MVP with a cash bonus from the extra money saved on the spot for the non-playin captain!!! Hence, no need for a 6th member of the team and more money an motivation for the players that earned it!!!

Is the criteria Matchroom considered in this thread?
The people involved at Matchroom are probably more knowledgeable about pool on a global basis than all but a few people. They have a network of insiders in all the sports that they cover. So nobody who was deserving of a place would be missing from their list
O come on! I work next to the PR folks at my company and know sometimes words are put together that aren't true.

I did not know this: In its earliest days, the Mosconi Cup was created by Sky Sports and Matchroom Sport as an exhibition event to increase public awareness of pool in the UK. In the first year of competition some of the WPBA's top players played alongside the men in their respective teams. These included Franziska Stark (Germany), Allison Fisher (England), Jeanette Lee (US) and Vivian Villarreal (US).

You sir have action on that. Luke surely knows more about his part of the pool world than most but that is just one part of the world as a whole. Don't believe me have Luke show up to Derby and make some lines.

Yes I do know Luke and consider him a very bright man. The hyperbole of your statement is a little ridiculous though.
I still fail to understand how CW is chosen*. I can see him making a list of the top 25...perhaps, but that is a lotta 'no-thank-yous' before he gets the nod.

The MatchroomPool website is really interesting. So many cool articles, and it's easy to navigate ----> MatchroomPool.com.
And there it is. Matchroom wasn't picking the most appropriate candidate. They were choosing who JA wanted. Simple, and easy to understand.

If Rodney and JA are on CW's Dragon player roster, then CW gets a piece of their Mosconi Cup earnings. Good choice, indeed; that is, for CW.
I remember when the UPA sent players to the World Pool Tournament in 2003. Instead of using the UPA ranking system, these players were friends of CW. He was president, so he could do what he wanted.
It's all about the almighty dollar and has nothing to do with who's the best person for the job.
