Charlie Williams Vs the USA

Dennis you are a champion, will you tell them Charlie is a beast. You don't get excited when you see Charlie's name on the tourney board do you? How many Americans you think can really beat him?

I'm with you on this, if Charlie is dedicated to pool and not self-promotion he might get into the top 10 players in the US. My list would probably be something like this.

Hatch
Earl
Johnny
Corey
SVB
Rodney
Mills

Close games would be

JJ
Gabe
Moore
Daulton
Bartram
Schmidt

and a few more I'm sure I'm missing.

Shiat..... YOU could beat CW is there was a shot clock :D

That's funny! "Mitch could 3-foul Charlie by just taking ball-in-hand, playing a basic safe each time, and watching Charlie run the shot-clock out (thus fouling) on each of his 3 turns at the table." :p :D

HA ha..This is a strictly for the cash list..

Donny
Jeremy
Johnny
Shane
Mike Dechaine
Rodney
Dennis Hatch
Earl

Shannon
Kim Davenport
Larry nevel(close)
Henny
Bart
Stevie Moore
Danny Harriman
CJ
Shawn Putnam(close)
Tony Robles
Corey
Dippyyyy
Scott Frost(4 the paper)
Frankie Hernandez(close but he will get it if playin)
Gabe

Im forgetting a few and leaving a few out for other reasons..

Whawhawhatttttt, Dippy??? I don't care who you are, thats some funny stuff right there.... Not in the camp with Frankie... Keith Bennett if the real Keith shows up. Kirknutz if he is playing full time.

If Charlie played the type of pool he played when he bested Tony Robles in the U.S. Open.................

I've said it before and I'll say it again: You can take a busload of professional poolplayers, and on any given day any of them could beat any of the others (in shorter races). The wheat starts to get seperated from the chaff in longer races, but I didn't see any mention of longer races in the original post.

When dedicated to PLAYING, Charlie Williams has got game. You don't have to like him as a person, but you gotta respect the fact that he can play a little.

The balls roll funny for everybody.

It's kinda dumb IMO to list players who could beat him when I've seen total NOBODIES take down seasoned professionals in regional AND major tournaments.

Use your brains

Dude is the 4th ranked American player on the AZ money list.

Still not convinced go to his player profile and look at that resume. I'll help, http://azbilliards.com/thepros/2000showplayer2011.php?playernum=198

He won the BCA Open. beat Efren for the Big Apple 9-Ball tourney, owned the Florida Pro Tour the same way Hatch owns the Joss Tour. He finishes high in everything and has as solid a resume as one can have. He's won quite a few big titles and the guy gets top 3 like no one's business.

CW is a playa, and I muthaf*ckin hate playas!

I highlighted your first sentence. Charlie is 4th because he plays in many tournaments. Some of these tournaments are abroad.

Most American players are hard pressed to rub 2 nickels together, they hardly play in the tournies over seas. Charlie is one of the luckier ones that happens to have some money available.

Matter of fact; most American players don't travel across the USA to play in tournaments.

Don't get me wrong, Charlie is a good pool player, but he would get his #** handed to him by more than a few American players in a race to 100.

I don't see him jumping up to play anybody on TAR for a large sum. Or is he planning on jumping up? ;)

I wonder how many people posting on this topic would play Charlie even with their own money? Most will never make it to his level of play. Why all the negative feedback on Mr Williams?

Charlie is methodical I don't see the board giving Klatt and Jeremy Jones a hard time about playing slow.

It's not a character debate, he might not be that good a guy, but as far as pool players go, he can play.

Ok ok maybe not Viffer..But the other 2 u mentioned were on the list I just didnt wanna put their names...When we said Kirkwood at Mikeys house he started having pannic attacks..

Charlie is a great player!

I don't know how good he plays for money, but in tournaments he is a tough man to beat!! DH

Heck even I beat Charie Williams once

Super billiard Expo 2010, at the Predator challenge table race to 1. He broke making 1 ball and then shot in a 2nd ball, then played a weak safe. I safed him, and he hit it, but left me a shot. Then I ran 7 balls and out. So see who is this Williams guy anyway. BTW I beat Tony Robles this year on the same race to 1 format at SBE 2011. Mika Immonen ducked me, some excuse about a professional 10 ball tournament.

Coz he is selfish, to the point that he impedes the opportunities of others.

And he may or may not sneak into a hotel room and show his winkie from time to time.

Just cause I wanted to read this again...you silver tongued devil, you. ;) (winkie for you).
