This site sucks something aweful. I ordered tips 3 weeks ago, & it still shows processing although they took the money out of my account. I called different days about 24 times, 6 emails & 2 contact forms- no response. I paid for the expedited shpping for FedEx for two day shipping & nothing. Are these guys for real?? Sorry, that is all. [exhales]

I have gotten multiple complaints about this site. I have been unable to find out who owns or runs it. It is as if they are trying to hide their identity. There are too many quality companies to deal with to go to these types of sites. Stay with the names you know. Stay with our advertisers if you can as we know these folks and both they and we would appreciate your loyalty.

agreed. I usually buy form main suppliers, such as seybert's or pooldawg. I found this site rather quickly because they had Kamui tips. Holy s*** what a mistake. I just wanted new tips rather quickly for Derby City, but need to figure something out quickly.

On top of that, they have a "news" section on their site that seems to be solely made up of content lifted from InsidePOOL.

The Cheap Shot is the one the company gives you

I can feel your pain and relate. I ordered a 5 cue Qclaw from cheapshot before christmas.

I received a order acknowledgement and they took my money. But that is about the size of it. I would advise you to dispute it with your credit card, paypal or whatever form of payment you used. That is what I am in the process of right now. (I started a similar thread)

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=126509

The only information I could find on the company came from internet searching where I found a nice duplex home with swimming pool just outside of Los Angeles looking at the company address on google earth.

I also found another site with a December review/advertisment for cheapshotbilliards. I called and spoke with someone that works for Definitive Synergy and they gave me the name of John Davis as the owner of the company and he mentioned that the guy used to work there.

http://www.definitivesynergy.com/product-reviews-product-reviews/cheapshot-billiard-supplies.html

No phone calls to the number I found for him or the company have been answered (Voicemail has always been full) and no response from a multitude of emails and online form requests for shipment information.

The Qclaw was to be a xmas present for a good friend of mine. anyone know where I can get a good deal on a 5-cue Qclaw in any color (Just not Black)

Thanks for the response, sorry you got screwed too. I would love to report these guys, maybe I should. I just ordered another set of Kamui tips from Seybert's, & of course, quick action taken & is being shipped already. I'm definetely going to report this to my credit card company. Anyways, hope to see some of you AZ'ers at DCC.

Are there people that can track these deadbeats on the Internet to get their REAL address? I would love to talk to a few of them in person. You know, just to tell them how I feel about what they do. Johnnyt

Thank you. Johnnyt

They are registered through GoDaddy using DomainsByProxy. DBP is a way to register anonymously and they pay for this service. Obviously they don't want anyone knowing who owns the site which is a very bad thing for a commerce site. I'd stay away from that.

The real contacts are hidden

Dave:

Appreciate your quick cut/paste of the output of the UNIX "whois" command (or use of any of a number of domain lookup sites), but I'm not sure if you looked over this information you posted. For one thing, the entity that registered this domain opted for the "private registration" option, which hides the real identity. You'll notice that the Administrative and Technical contacts are the same as the registrar itself. And, there's a comment in there in several places about the registration being a private one.

So unfortunately, one has to contact the registrar directly -- via either phone or official postal mail correspondence -- to learn the true identity. For privacy protection reasons, many registrars won't willingly give up this information, unless you're a law official with a subpoena. :(

If I get a moment in between all the things I'm doing for work (I'm in I.T.), I'll try to dig up what I can about these folks and post here.

Hope this is helpful,
-Sean

I did look it over before posting it. WHOIS is always the place to start if you wanna do a little detective work. I was just posting it if someone wanted to put in the time.

Reverse Phone Look-up

A reverse look-up of the telephone number on the white pages website shows four names all at the same address:
Chris Asberry
Christine Marquez
Daniel Marquez
Lori Marquez

i dunno if this really helps at all, but see if they are being reported in BBB.

EDIT:
Hmmm, I know this sounds MORE unlikely, but try twittter.

I got an email today from someone who does not want his name associated with this problem. He says the owner is named John Taylor but that he is just the 'front man' for the real owners, whom he would not name. This is starting to look really weird. C'mon, you pool detectives, somebody show me their stuff and find out who really owns this company!

PM me your address and I will send you a Milk Dud free of charge. I was on the Kamui band wagon for a while but Milk Duds IMO are a lot better. I know what it feels like to get burned and I hope this makes you feel better.

They're a pretty heavy advertiser with Inside Pool. Maybe give IP a call, since the ad payments have got to come from somewhere. Not sure if they would share who the owner is but its worth a shot. Unless of course that whole advertiser/publisher confidentiality rule comes into play. ;)

Oh, they're real. And they're spectacular
