Chinese made Pool tables

Yalin/Star plays just like a Brunswick/Olhausen/Diamond.. or what ever table you want to choose, as long as the "Table Jocky" set's it up right?

About a third of the cost.

Some folks insist on a brand name.

is this what Yalin thinks about their table mechanics. I bet your the type who blames the mechanic for the tables inperfections.

if the best tables in the world were produced in China - so be it.

but they're not even close.

I will second that - from experience.

I was recently in China and played on their knock off Gold Crown... I don't know how to explain, but it felt like table was missing solidity... like it was hallow inside or something.

As for Diamond knock off, I didn't see any. So you know, this pool hall I visited in Beijing that stayed pack 24 hours had over 30 9ft tables with 'snooker' pockets and only 1 pool table.

Later I visited another pool room which had 2 pool tables and rest 9 ft snooker style, had Star Tables too but I didn't like it much either. I'm just a table snob  I guess ;)

Another interesting point, I don't think Chinese pool table mechanics/ builders know anything about 'Dyamondwood' either.

I think you are just a little bias. Aren't you marry into a Diamond Table family?

You are right about the fact that my husband & I are partners of Diamond Tables. However, my opinion is not biased, but based on my experience and what the facts are. I have no problem saying Brunswick is a great table and I like to play on it. The fact based on my experience is that Chinese knock off tables did not play that great.

Plus, Jay has agreed too that Chinese knock off tables don't nearly play as good as the real products.

You probably don't stay too connected with pro players, but I've heard quite a few complaints about the Yalin tables being using for Predator 10 Ball in Manila. They -Pros who are playing in it- are complaining about how the rails don't have the same reaction and severe drifts of tables...

What I mean by a 'Table Snob' is I know how a good table should play!

Wow auto can surpass the American market yet with a pool table not a chance just mtcw

Do they come with a one piece slate? Or, how about Dyamondwood rails? How about their resale value, do they drop down to almost nothing? What about a warrenty? Do they support pool, or just support making money fo
r themselves? "Table Jocky"...???

I'd like to place a bet on you. When and at what track will you be riding, and will you be riding Mr. Diamond again? I'm sure you're a winner against those Chinese nags...

How do you know ?

Do you own a table, are you planning on buying a table ?

Have you played on Yalin star table ?

How many tables have you have you set up?

I would think that a person would have to have set up a few tables and have had to recover a shit load of tables to form a opinion on if a china made tables plays and holds up like American made table.

Poolroom by me in Tampa opened in 2003 with 14 new Chinese Ohio (I spelled that wrong). They were horrible tables. Banked different from table to table and a lot of times different on different rails on the same table. Rail would loosen up, screws and bolts were dropping off them from underneath, and the subway system was so flimsy it moved all the time causing balls to hang up or drop on the floor. The owner was a retired open pool player and I would have thought he would know better than that. He lasted about two years until he ran out of money. Johnnyt

Table

Chinese could not knock off the diamond, the first time the Chinese flipped the table they built on its side it" the table" would fall apart...
