Cleaning Billiard Balls

I have been told a few different ways to clean them, the last being, put them in a sink full of water and use dish soap. Will that clean them and not hurt the surface of the balls?

I just use a touch of cold water and a bath towel. They easily rub clean as a whistle, including dye scuffs from my drop pockets. I don't see a need for chemicals.

With dish soap balls will have bad contact all the time, especially if you use it a lot :sorry:

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I will figure it out somehow. It looks like I need to buy something just for cleaning them.

Thanks again,
Robin

Comet w/ bleach or bleach alternative ...

Under NO circumstances should one use Comet on phenolic balls ... just a heads up.

I agree with the dish soap being a no-no. seems to dry the balls out, even if followed by Aramith polish...in my experience.

I rub my balls with the aforementioned polish, place them in a ziplock bag with a little polish in it and then finich with buff by microfiber cloth.

I gotta get me a machine.

dude that's sick

I built the one using a 5 gal homer bucket and a 10 inch auto buffer from Walmart $20. I use plasticX headlight polish and turtle wax. It cleans 10 balls at a time. Works great and only takes about 3 minutes.

Check youtube for a video.
