I figured it wasn't fair for me to have a "congratulations thread" and Steve not have one. ;)

Good job, Steve. Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing you in August. Hopefully I'll get out there early enough that maybe we can get together and play a little. If possible, I'm hoping to spend a day or two in NY and go to Amsterdam. I haven't been there since like '94 or so.

Congratulations to both of you. Steve and Jimmy are a great players and I am extremely grateful for their participation in this forum. Best of luck in the WC, go there and play your hearts out and enjoy yourself!

Congrats Steve. I was able to see part of one of your matches and you played great. I could learn a lot watching you play for sure. Good luck in August!

Congrats to Steve, an exceptional straight pooler and an exceptional guy. Good luck in August.

Told my buddy Jeeves I thought Steve was the ticket :)

I had to admit, there were many names I didn't recognise though.

Grats man!

Anyone able to say where Shaun Wilke placed?

I believe Steve and Shaun tied for 3rd and 4th then had a playoff for the remaining qualifier spot , which Steve won. Danny was already invited, so Bob earned a spot, then the playoff for the other spot.

You are totally correct.

Steve played some great pool and he just happened to run into a buzzsaw named Bob Maidhoff. In the consolation match, Steve and Shaun went back and forth, with Steve coming out on top.

My congrats go out to all of these players. It was a great event.

Thanks everyone for the support!

I will do a full write-up later today - in the meantime, work calls... :(

Dude, you're a straight pool machine, seriously. Would love to watch you play sometime. You're always in it at the end. Jimmy, congrats to you as well--- not as familiar with your game, but you must be a playa.

Congrats guys.

Congrads to Steve!

I was playing Gina's team at ABC (league), and she was so nervous the entire night... endless txting and updates all night. But it looks like it was all worth it!

Congratulations Steve

Glad to here you you go the job done.

Also reps to your opponent who called the fall on himself

Nope, Amsterdam's tourney won't allow guys who already have spots. Not that I would anyway - those guys are all my friends and if I beat any of them so they couldn't win a spot I'd feel terrible. I know people have different opinions on that so I don't hold it against anyone who feels differently. This is just how I feel on it.
