Congrats to AZ's own DeadPoked!!!

When I think of Roy, I think of that little critter that peeked back at you in his old avatar! Now, I'll think of him as much for winning one of Shannon's tournamnets! Very nice Roy!

Kudos to the big Easy for letting us know. Two great fellas, Roy & E-E.

Did you see his draw? OMG! First he beat this guy name Bye. Then he played Scooter, who hadn't slept since before the Derby. Then he played Bye again. Then he played Crawfish who played one handed after stabbing his bridge hand in a carpet install incident. Then he played Shanelle. And in the finals he got Mary A! Whatever!

;) ;) ;)

Hey, it was a good day for more than one with a last name of Payton. Not so much for someone with a first name of Peyton tho...

Congrat's Roy!!!

Thanks guys! It felt great to finally win an event like that. I've been putting in a lot of time to bring my game up and it's nice to be rewarded for doing so.

Eric we need to hit up a tournament soon.

Mikey I appreciate the other thread ;). Maybe too early in the morning. And I don't really drink much anymore... But yeah, still that other thing... Daily... Hourly

Congrats man, glad you knocked one of these off. Hope you make it back around this way sometime soon. You have any plans to try to make the Smokey Mtn Shootout again?

BTW- I definitely, positively, absolutely and without a doubt need at least the 8 from this point forward.

Dan, I give good players the 8. You better ask for something you can with! haha ;) Just kidding. Thanks buddy.

Not going to make it that tournament. Didn't care much for it. One opponent is enough for me I can't deal with the 30 other opponents in the form of bugs on the table as well. Didn't care for how that tournament was run. I don't have any immediate plans for any other tournaments but I'm sure I'll be seeing you around.

Great shooting Roy and be real glad my buddy Jeff didn't start telling you jokes while racking, its hard to play rolling on the floor laughing. That boy is a dang nut a lot of fun to be around in a poolroom exp. Randolphs. Keep on winning Roy.--Leonard

Leonard, Jeff was a very worthy opponent and I was glad that he made it back into the finals against me. He showed a lot of heart to get back into the finals after our first meeting and won two matches against two A players. One of them his opponent was on the hill and he needed 3 games to win. The other was Tony Morrison who isn't a bad player himself and that's the best thing I will say about that POS. He screwed me out of $600 on a cue deal where he sold me a knockoff Ginacue claiming he was hardup for the cash and so I thought I'd help him out. I told him that I would find out that night if it was a real ginacue and that if I found out it wasn't then we would get together the next day and have my money returned. Once I got home I spoke with Brandon Pureza who knows ginacues very well knew exactly what cue I had since he had spoken to Tony not less than a month before and told him that he was certain that the cue was a Filipino immitation cue that was worth less than $100. He didn't return my phone calls for a few weeks and when he did he said he'd already lost the money playing a certain player who I later found out he never played because he backed down from playing him. He kept giving me the runaround until he eventually he made it obvious he never would return the money. I just chalked it up as a hard earned lesson about being careful who you try to help.

So yeah I was glad Jeff beat him and in a way I wasn't. I wouldn't have minded torturing him one more time. I played him to get on the hill in that tournament. You think I didn't want to shoot his nuts in? It was a very satisfying tournament to win. Directly before our match he had the audacity to ask me about that cue he "sold" me. Just a move to get in my head is all it was and I recognized it for what it was and did not let it affect me. After I won the tournament he started woofing at me about matching up and I quickly let him know that I would gladly after he returned my $600. Of course he ran his mouth like a little weasel that he is acting like he wasn't wrong for what he did. Even though I like my side of it playing that ***** I wouldn't ever give him a chance at any more of my money. It was great feeling to relegate him to only 3rd place. He could have easily won $1400 but ended up with only $250 and some change. It's nice to get the last laugh every once in a while.

Baby steps, there are lots of people to bust before you win $35 and blow your cover!!!!

Much better to play Joe Black, you know he always has about $5k with him that he will lose. He does play good with that chicken wing stroke though.

Tony is a special breed, that's all I can really say about him. I think he's reached that speed where the majority of the time he will get beat. Plays too good for the good players and not good enough for the great players.

Good for you Roy and congrats on winning the tournament... karma's a *****. That guy knew damn well he had a fake Gina because I'm the one who told him it was a fake a month earlier... He had never even heard of a Ginacue! I don't know how people can live with themselves being so shady like that. One of my best friends Eric Moore destroyed him at the Open last year... by the time the match was over that guys nerves were so shot he couldn't hit the end rail. It was pretty satisfying to watch.

Congrats. Great story. I've played the guy a few times and he comes off as a 'nice guy' and I probably would have tried to help him out the way you did. Thanks for the heads up and great shooting.
