*** Congratulations Team USA ***

Apparently you know nothing about the sacrafices that military members go through. And I don't want to know about someone in your family that served. If you didn't then you don't know $***. I think the American flag means more to Americans than any other country. Thats probably why he said that crap. But I was just being honest. If he said that around me I would slap him. I wasn't threatening him, thats just what I would do.

I have lost 6 fellow Marines that I consider close friends in 2 tours in Iraq. I too almost died. I am lucky to me here. So I don't care if I just joined yesterday, if someone makes a stupid ass comment like that, then of course I am going to react.

For those that red-repped me, F off. Especially if your an American.

Soto,

Please take a step back, and realize that as a member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America, your actions and statements reflect upon the entire U.S. military. Thoughtless and reactionary statements like the one you made towards Roy, do NO ONE any benefit; in the end it just create hostility where there was none previously. As far as Roy's statement, yes it was edgy, and could be taken as, when looked at by itself and no background information, a slap in the face of patriotic Americans. But in this form of impersonal communication, you can never take things at face value immediately, because as a speaker you cannot truly convey emotion, intonation or inflection in what you say. Food for thought.

Before you jump up and accuse me of being an unpatriotic American...I've been serving in the U.S. Army for the past 11 years. I've lost my fair share of friends in these wars and just volunteered to do another 12 month stretch overseas in AFGH. I have bled for and would bleed again for this flag and country, but know when moderation and tolerance are the best policy. All things being equal, thank you for your service. If we ever meet, we'll have to share a round.

I am sorry that this thread has taken another direction than I planned, but I have to admit that I also like the fact that we are no longer discussing the Mosconi Cup :)

How are you still posting??? You should still be on the airplane home!

Seriously though, I can't wait until next year's M.C. No matter the outcome, your posts here made that august event even more entertaining.
Some of the best and funniest good natured woofing I can ever recall!

In fact, if your burgeoning career as a pool prognosticator and betting handicapper doesn't work out, (and to this point...well, it doesn't look good) you could make a living as the curator of the venerable Mosconi Cup! For all your zeal and enthusiasm, the 100's of posts you penned, many replete with self-deprecating and sardonic humor, you would be the perfect fit for said position!

Some jobs I would stay away from if I were you would be any type of investor, investing, investing counseling, anything to do with making money, any job at a casino, racetrack (horse, hare, dog or others where betting is permited), any job as a Diplomat (you may inadvertantly cause, how shall I put this...."skirmishes". Yes, that's a tidy description. What else....I would also stay away from football betting, office pools, table games of chance, lotteries, etc.

You're a good man Roy! You being such a good sport about this year's matches is a great example to all the other members here.

I see from your avatar that Schmitty enjoyed beating up on you when visiting your part of the country. Schmitty could be in trouble when you heal up.

Aww F**K off you looser. :p

I awoke in the middle of the night and realized how wrong this was for me to say this. It just isn't fair, so let me correct it.

Aww F**K off, you loser! :D

I play you one pocket if you give me a one ball handicap for 20 Euros or two Smalahoves.

Let's get 2 Smalahove and then see who of us will be able to finish this delicious, norwegian meal. Not finish first. Just finish it :) I'll bet you high on this one. We can add lutefisk too :)

If it is two Smalahoves, I'll need two or maybe three spots to the white porcelain pot. I'm American and while I live in Cajun country and we eat just about anything, Smalahove is an acquired taste even for those of us with refined palates.

Lutefish/lutefisk??? WTH?

Lutefisk, Joey. Fish soaked in LYE. Yes, that's right -- anhydrous sodium hydroxide, aka lye. The lye breaks down the proteins in the fish meat, so it gets to a jelly-like consistency. I've had it before, and although I found it delicious, it's an acquired taste for those that have trouble getting past the fact that they're eating something soaked in drain clog dissolver.

Anyway, good luck with that bet. :D

Joey couldn't even finish the delicious, salty norwegian snack I offered him 2 years ago, so he knows he's got no chance at all :-)
