I leave the billiard world when I check weights....my figures are shipping weights.

If money is no issue then I would say that obviously anything can be custom built.

This reminds me of an acquaintance years ago that took a VW Bug and did a conversion kit to make it look like a Ferrari. Spent a lot of time and money doing it. When he finally finished it he said that he wish that he would have bought a real one. He said it is very disappointing driving and not fun driving around in a look alike but underpowered car. If he bought a real one he could have always got his money back.
The kit car still had problems with handling, ride, and etc. and it was all related to what he started with. The foundation was still the same.
And yet, some kit cars are not VW conversions and can out perform the car they copy.
Of course, they are themselves expensive.
Kind of like building a high performance car...Question: How fast do you want to go? Answer: How much money do you have?
Many have thrown a lot of money at a car that ends up being a turd though.
As for the pool table. I would wonder if it might not be cheaper/easier to start with the table that the player enjoys playing on then have it custom rebuilt to look "nicer" for the wife, rather than start with a table that plays crappy and try to have it re-engineered to play how the owner wants.

I don't know either.
I have a Brunswick and like the way that it plays. The table is solid, stable, and is rather quiet when the balls roll across the cloth and hit the cushions.
