Cool Pool Table....

You want a cool table!

Here is the coolest table I've seen. You can leave your beer on the rail and it will stay cold.:grin:

I sort of like the location of the Kling on the polished concrete floor (5th pic from the bottom or so) but the table is a 4 leg variety. Still, the grain you see in the wood of some of those Klings is something you will almost never see in a modern table.

The St Bernard second from the bottom sitting on the Persian rug has unreal grain and the 6 legs with that cathedral style curve. Sick looking table from the 1892-1905 period.

I love the looks of those old different time periods. I dont know the proper name's for the periods. But I love the craftmanship they used, i had a pile of pics in a laptop that got stolen from my luggfage comming home from the US open this year of old castles/mansions/etc with pool tables/persian rugs etc. Things that are out of reach in our era as the cost of building them was huge and the craftsmen are gone as well. I sure hope I backed up those pics.

thanks for posting in my thread,

happy Turkey Day

The coolest table I have ever seen are from the past, not aiming to look like something from the future. One is hard pressed to find tables built like these and with this kind of wood anymore.

Either of those in a 9-foot with the 6 leg configuration and the ball return slot and I am happy for life.

Not that I would be spending less then some of the above, but I would trade ANY of the above straight across for a prestine example of one of those two tables in a heartbeat.

If I ever had the bankroll and shooting space, I'd happily buy a fully restored Brunswick "Kling" with ball return

As far as I'm aware, the pool hall that was used in making "The Hustler", had plenty of these tables and originally, in fact, I'm almost sure that the table that Newman & Gleason played on was a "Kling" :)

Those tables were also made in 5x10 and there are still a few of them available, but you're looking at a $10K+ price tag for one of 'em as I remember speaking to a guy on AZB forums that has/had a few of these antique tables :)

I agree with you totally about the older antique tables, the different wood grains is always great to see and is certainly more eye catching than the cheap ass formica finished plywood that is on most (Not all) mass produced tables nowadays.

JMHO.

I'm all for innovation and out-of-the box thinking in Billiards products as many aspects have been stuck in a rut for over 50 years, However all the images on the Hurricane Custom Billiards website of their tables are just 3D Renderings, not photos of actual tables. Have they actually built and delivered any of these designs anywhere?

The table they did for Unique Autosports was delivered and setup.
We provided the printed cloth with the UA logo. The black print on black cloth gave the subtle look they wanted.
Several pics of that table here -
