Received this note in email last night. Since I did not report the Corey/Charlie problem as a news item, I didn't think the apology was something for the front page.

But since it was discussed here on the forum, I thought this belonged here.

To All Press,
For those of you who know already, there was an incident at a recent DP event with Corey Deuel. Since that time Corey has called us and apologized as well as in person to Charlie Williams. Charlie feels his apology is sincere and has no grudge against him and we have decided to allow Corey to play in our upcoming events. The following is a public statement from Mr. Deuel that he would appreciate if you would post as your main headline news.
Thank you

Dear Dragon Promotions, I would like to take the time to express my deep apologies to everyone at Dragon Promotions for my recent outburst at the Jacksonville event. At the time I was very emotional as this is a game that I love very much and wish could be more than what it is. There are things in life to fight for but not in that way. I understand that my actions were obviously way out of line and there were better ways to resolve these issues. As for my match time I am sure it was just a simple mistake and I should not have acted the way that I did. I would like to thank Charlie for the invitation to the World 14.1 even after my actions. thanks corey!

At Least I'm Paying Attention

That's very big of Corey.
Now, if Charlie would apologize to Marrisa, Eddie Wheat would deliver Charlie Edwards cue, ActionHound would pay Jay Helfert and I were to get my keyrings, all would be right with the world.... imo

And a good move by Dragon Promotions too.

Anybody else see any pro-wrestling in this?

Now they do....

I talked to Corey about this last night.

Good move on both their parts.

But fact of the matter is, Corey is an excellent player, and if your going to bill it as a World Championship, you need top shelf players.

Interestingly enough, from what i understand, there might be some problems that CW/Dragon Promotions are having filling the tournament with quality people.

How do i know this?
well.....

Interestingly enough, there is a guy who i know of who got an INVITE. He was seriously considering playing in the event, despite the fact that he is a tomato can. How he got the invite and who he is, i will not go into detail about.

I do not know if he paid his money or not, but considering that this is being billed as a world championship, this guy has no business being in the field.

Believe me when i tell you, that i am not a serious straight pool player, and never will be, but i can wipe the floor with this kid, yet for whatever reason, he gets an invite to this "prestigious" event.

Now before everyone gets all bent, i am not saying that i myself want an invite to play. I suck at straight pool. It would be a complete waste for me and everyone watching, but that being the case and seeing that i could crush this kid in ANY game OPPOSITE HANDED, what is that saying about the "World Championship" event.
It will be interesting to see if this kid plays, who's bracket he gets placed in and why? Just throwing that out there.
It will be something i keep my eye on just in case an "i told you so" is needed in the future.

Last year too-They want to fill that field obviously and if they cant do it with quality players well $500.00 is $500.00. There are still enough World Class players who will be there the last days and provide some great enertainment/shooting.

That's a switch, usually it's Corey who causes somebody else to lose his cool.

The apology is admirable, but unless it comes with improved demeanor from Deuel, it is relatively meaningless. I'll play the optimist and say that I look forward to a new, improved, Corey. We shall see.
