I'm guessing that Ray (Big Truck) will have some of Corey's matches from 4 Bears this weekend available to view either now or soon. If you want to see some great creative shot making you need to check it out. I forgot how much I love to watch this guy play. I'm usually not too surprised when I watch pros play and have a pretty good idea of what's coming next, but there were a couple of times when I thought he was hosed and could maybe come with a safe. Instead, he would pull out a kick, carom and finish the run. He makes a hill/hill shot after missing position on the final 8 ball to win the tourney that you have to see. I also saw Shane miss an 8 ball in the loser's side final that he might miss once every 500 shots, that would've tied the match. He lost after that. Overall a great stream and tournament to watch. Thanks to Big Truck. I hope Corey keeps playing tournaments!

Thanks!

I couldnt watch the stream, thanks for the heads up, I'll buy the DVD if Big Truck sells them...,

I think Corey would play more if there was more money in the game, I think he like most of the top guys wants to be all in, but cant get enough out in return.

The game should not require you to win in order to make a living, playing well and placing in the top ten should be enough, sad that the monys not there to keep these guys focused on the game.

Being there in person it was amazing to watch. A little interesting insight on the missed 8 ball and when Shane hooked himself and had to kick at the 8 ball, maybe game 7. At supper Shane said sometimes he rushes himself on the bar box, on the 9 footer he takes his time to be precise or he doesn't get out. I guess you can say just takes the shot for granted.

Shane made an amazing z kick shot on the 8 ball against Bart Good that wasn't on a stream table. It was absolutely crazy.

Fun tourney. Great players

Heard through the pool grapevine that there was a Calcutta and that Corey did not take a piece of himself or buy any part of himself in the Calcutta. I wonder if he surprised himself winning this event. It's a strong win for Corey.

A railbird on site that that Corey made one of the best shots he had ever seen in his life on the hill-hill in the final match. He combination-banked a ball and broke out another ball, allowing him to pocket the 8. Strong offensive shot for a hill-hill finals.

Corey and I used to play 9-Ball kiss, caroms, and banks. Play in rotation, every shot has to be a kiss, carom, or bank. Pretty brutal game, right? He would string so many racks it was sick... It got to the point to where 4 packs were no surprise. On a bar table he does disgusting things....

He misplayed his breakout on the 8 ball in the final game. The 8 was frozen to an opponents ball and he carom banked it cross corner. I didn't see that shot but he was coming with that kind of stuff all weekend. Really creative.

What's cool about witnessing shots like this is that those of us who are pool aficionados recognize the brilliance in the execution.

Those who know nothing about pool don't even recognize that it's a great shot, other than it was pocketed. :o

Amen! How many times have we seen a shot executed that no one recognizes the degree of difficulty?

Corey / Ralf

I posted on someones thread a couple of years ago, the thread had to do with Ralf Souquet and Corey was mentioned in it, and I said I felt Corey was the better player at that time and I got HAMMERED..with people saying he has talent but not like Ralf..I disagreed and pointed out that Corey had beaten Ralf in their Mosconi Cup matchup and that Corey was the only guy to Win a US Open with a shutout in the finals along with the fact that I think he has shots that Ralf just doesn't have...but most disagreed and said Ralf was the superior player and that you cant judge a Mosconi cup short race to 6.

I think Corey could take Ralf in a 9 or 10 Ball and no question in an All Around, both back then and right now.

And that right there is why pool isn't that popular on T.V. Most people have no idea what they are seeing. It's easy to understand feats of strength, speed, and agility because everyone can relate to that. When it comes to a great pool shot though, the average person, even people who have played pool, don't understand the physics, complexity, and execution of what they just saw. That's why trick shots, many of which are VERY simple if set up right(like making a bunch of balls at once, or riding the cue ball down some set up cues), always wow people the most because they LOOK very difficult. It demonstrates a general lack of understanding in the general populous. Don't expect pool to really take off unless a major change in society or the pool world takes place.

He is without a doubt the most talented pool player of this era and maybe any era.

He just don't have the drive/fire for the game he had at a younger age.
People in their early to mid 20s have no idea of how Corey could play.

If he had the drive/fire/work ethic of SVB there would be one and only one player at the top, that would be C.D.

I've said it many times, I think the Seminole tribe ruined Corey.

Said it before

And I'll say it again... Ppl talk about how creative the Filipinos are but forget that Corey is quite the artist himself.

Acher said in an interview that Corey ruined the game of 9ball. I mean he is the inventor of the soft break.

Seeing him play in person is always a pleasure bc he sees shots that you think "ok just float down. Etc" instead he goes a different path that ur like wtf?

He's got a surprisingly massive stroke. Anyone who's seen the draw shot curve coming off the rail knows what I'm talking about. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VVDrZK6VpuU

I mean I've seen him play the corner hook safe on a hill hill match with 3balls left on the table. It's absolutely daring and brilliant what he comes up with.

That's pretty much what attracts everyone to pool. Seeing someone do something on the table that looks impossible. Like a magic act. Hence why we have our own magician. And Corey's not too far behind that guy!

an AWESOME way to close out a match
