Country Retreat Family Billiards ♥️

Recently had the pleasure of spending a few hours @CRFB in Boone, NC. I must say it’s about the coolest small pool room I’ve ever seen. My friend and I played a couple hours on their 10’ table and spoke to the owner Chris a lot during that time. I’m so jealous of the players that live close by what a treat it must be to have a place like this to hang out and equipment like this to play on.

I took a few pics right before closing on Tuesday but it’s telling me the files are too large and I’m not tech savvy enough to know how to proceed posting them here.

I appreciate the plug, but that photo of whatever that is is not doing any justice to the quality of our grill offerings.

Our non-alcohol poolroom and grill has existed for 27+ years due mainly to our grill and to all our loyal regular F&B customers, most of which have never played pool here.
Awesome pool room and Owner. Tuesday night pool tournament still on Chris ?

I looks like it tastes good to me, those are the most perfectly golden brown fries and looks like what is half of the burger. When it comes to food its the taste that is important, presentation is for the pictures on the menu. I wouldn't expect the same food presentation from a pool hall/pub & grill as I would a fine steak joint where you pay $70 for just the steak and all sides are la carte unless that a $50 burger and fries which I highly doubt.

chris seems to do a great job of running his hands on business. that is what it takes and why he is still in business.
hats off to him for sure.

that stupid picture shows how some little thing he may or may not have had control over can cause effects.

that is why it takes an owner to be there and make sure things dont go sour.

The picture does look discouraging. However, that looks like a standard big slice of bread or toast the meat is sitting on. Could be most of the patty was on the side not pictured too. Judging by the happy customers jumping in I would say the picture doesn't do justice. If that is a bun I would shop for a smaller bun or bigger patty.

Chris, since this picture has been posted I would suggest you post a picture of a freshly prepared hamburger tray showing a full picture of the sandwich. I do have a weakness for good burgers served on texas toast!

That's not a burger, its the chili!

Kidding.

One thing I've found notable at the country retreat is the amount of people who come in there for food only. I've seen it every time I've been there.

There's nothing more finer than pool in the Carolinas. It was my favorite state to travel in when we used to go on the road in the '80s. Lots of cool pool rooms like this one. If I lived there, this would be my hangout for sure. Thanks for sharing!
