Crazy spots

I gave Andre from the Tampa area the hand span. He used to back alot of guys and he couldnt make 2 balls in a row but I hadnt seen him in about 6 months and he had improved alot. We played 8 ahead for $ 500 and the first game he ran the rack in 30 seconds using the hand span and I was like Oh Shit! He had huge hands on top of it like Shaqs! He could move the cueball over a foot. I thought I was screwed for sure but the last hour he didnt make a ball the games he broke and I didnt miss a ball. I ran a 6 pack to end the set. I was in a dead trap and got lucky to out run it. Never again!!

I Just Like To Gamble, And Regularly Play Guys That I Have No Business Playing.

The Biggest Spot I Was Ever Given Was The 4 Out And The Breaks..... We Played 4 Sets And Broke Even. We Actually Copied The Spot We Heard That Svb Had Given Scooter (just What We Heard, I Certainly Wasn't There)

I've Learned That No Matter What The Spot Is, If The Other Guy Doesn't Miss/leave You A Shot, You Have No Chance To Win.

In Dallas, I have seen Bob Vannover play straight pool to 100 the catch is that Bob has to run 100 in a row or he goes back to zero, while you can add yours up, I have yet to see him lose a set with that spot.

I HAD A REGULAR IN MY ROOM THAT WOULD GIVE 30-40 NO COUNT AS HIS NORMAL SPOT TO THE GUYS HE PLAYED.

I ALSO SAW HIM PLAY A GUY ONCE GOING TO 100, AND ALL THE OTHER GUY HAD TO DO WAS MAKE A BALL IN THE SIDE.....100 TO 1.....YES THE GUY GOING TO 100 WON.

Spots I have gotten:

9 ball:
1. Break, ball-in-hand 6 out and the last 6
2. The break, the hand span every shot, and the 8
3. Hennessee got the break and the hand span after the break only, if I hit a ball to the rail I won
4. Opponent must shoot 8/9 into the same pocket
5. Opponent must shoot 9 in twice (pocket it then spot it up)
6. Spotted 7 games in a race to 9
7. Ball in hand after opponent miss and after my first miss each inning
8. Opponent can only win game by playing a carom or combo
9. If I made 3 in a row I won (tight table)
10.We both play one-handed and I get the 7 out.
11.Break,3,5,7,8 and the shot after the break.

8 ball:
1. Odds on the money by the game
2. Opponent must bank at least three balls per game
3. 8 ball must be played into a pocket that I specify at the beginning of the game
4. Opponent must bank 8 into last pocket.
5. My two shots to opponents one

1 pocket:
1. 11-3 my fouls do not count
2. The handspan
3. All 5 other pockets to one back pocket
4. I get spotted a certain ball at the beginning of the rack (i.e. if I make the 11 ball I win)
5. Opponent cannot bank a ball towards their hole
6. Opponent cannot leave the cue ball above the side pocket or it is a foul
7. Opponent must run 8 and out to win

Rotation
1. My score +30, opponent score -30

Just gave the 4,5,6,8,9 and loser breaks to the local go-off last week. He kept making the 7 on the break and said he wanted to rack them himself. I said that was fine but that he would have to call them instead of them being wild. He whined for a while and then did the sensible thing. Quit. I have also given "the hand span with being able to shoot any ball at any time" spot. That one is a doozie!

This is one I've heard from a well-respected open player to a C+/B player...

"I'll give you the 1 and out, but I get the breaks and ball in hand after the break. And no, you can't win"
My buddy gives this spot and calls it "The Rainbow" He wins but then again he consistently beats the ghost!!

This has to win

OK, in nineball I have done this 3 times and won every time. I get the break, and a pool league 6 gets ALL THE BALLS. I only do this on the 8ft tables, if he makes any ball he wins. Won 40 one nite, 20 the next week, and 120 two weeks ago.

I have another "hustlee" that plays for 3 bucks a game if I let him win by making any two balls on the table.

I also rack up 10 balls and give 6-5 playing one pocket to all locals- playing with a golf ball. There arent many god one pocketeers around here.

I have a guy I used to play 8-6 and beat at will. Now we play 8-8 but I use a broomstick. Its tougher than 8-6 is all I can say.....

I once gave a total sucker the 2,6,7,8 and the break on a 4 by 8 with big pockets. This of course was after starting the night playing even and adjusting along the way. He couldn't make a ball...it was sweet!

On a side note, I saw Gabe give a guy affectionately known as "Drunk Phil" 33-3. That's right 33-3! They bet $300 or $400 a game and Phil never won a game. I have never seen that many coins by a players pocket to indicate how many he owed.

If you ever see Gabe ask him about Phil. I am sure it will give you both a laugh.

I give up this spot on occasion. I'm not quite good enough to beat the ghost consistantly, but I'll give up the one out. (I can play safe....I know..easy game, but I kinda suck)

I watched Jack Cooney playing King Kong some one pocket at Hard Times. He spotted Kong "no fouls". There was no penalty for Kong to scratch or lag into the pack, not hitting a rail.....Cooney won 6 games in a row at $100/game.

That's usually a sucker game.
I've never lost when my scratches don't count.
All you have to do is keep shooting the cue ball
gently into the stack.

Gave a weak player 9-7 playing one-hole-I used only the shaft from a breakcue with phenolic tip!The real kicker is I couldn't use CHALK! Lost a little money back to my pigeon.

I played a Greek restaurant owner from Baltimore once.
I gave him 4-1 odds and he used a broomstick.
I swept him aside pretty easily.
I was drinking and sharked him a little ,which I usually
don't do. :o

I also have given out the handspan. The last time I did so was up in Jacksonville at Harley Bryant's old place. The guy I played was like 6-3 and had sasquatch hands. That handspan game is brutal for sure. This guy couldnt run a rack to but with the handspan he was subject to sticking 2s and 3s on me at any time. He just kept playing position to get close to his next shot and sure as hell, them sasquatch hands of his made it so that he was shooting ducks every time.

I gave a guy the break and the one ball. He could win on the one and the nine. I could only win on the nine. After a while, he didn't like that game anymore, so I took the break and the one ball, and gave him ALL the rest of the balls, from the two on. I could only win on the one or the nine.

Guess what, I beat him both ways. It's a trap if you play better than the guy. You figure it out. I've done this more than once with a good customer.

Yes it's true, I was a hustler in my youth.

Johnny, you have to know this one. I play Six Ball with a guy who plays about my speed. I give him the break and the five ball. He loves it, getting weight from a guy who plays his speed. I ROB him! You figure it out.

I'm giving up way too much information in my old age. :)

Which is why it blew me away that a living human could give that spot to Chavez. I had played golf and liability with Jack on several occasions....never knew who he was. Nice guy.

I'd much rather give it then take it. If I'm even halfway in stroke when I get there, you have a game. I truly haven't played any pool in months.

Really amazing! I usually give my opponent 8-4 when we play that way.
Haven't lost yet.
