Those Are The Coolest Jp's I Have Seen.

Look To Be Executed Very Well, And Are A Great Accent To The Cue.

> As nice as those jp's are, when do we get to see the rest of the CUE?

If that is the one that Dick Abbott had, unplayed for over 20 years, other than the one Rempe sold, that may be the finest example in the world. Meucci's from that era were great players,at least to me. Tommy D.

Cool

Yea.. I like it..
You went through a lot to make 'um..
Worth all your hard work..
Their nice..

> The one Rempe had was sold in 1989 for 17k,then sold again for 85k less than 10 feet from where the first sale took place, according to an utterly reliable witness. Chances are it will never be seen again on American soil,it was relocated to Japan. Tommy D.

Rep to you for such nice words. I am tired of all the Meucci bashing personally. This is a pre Meucci Originals cue made by Bob himself. It hits like no production Meucci. Its proportions are different too. To me, comparing todays Meucci with mine is like comparing today's Balabushka cues with those of the 60's. Bob's craftsmanship deserves more respect. But enough with the soap box.

Yes it is the cue offered by Dick Abbott for so many years. His price tag is still on the shaft and the cue is still pristine. What is also there, however, are 2 additional shafts from Jim Rempe's own Crown Jewel. He didn't sell all shafts when he let the cue go. I have his matching shafts for English pool. Like snooker shafts, they are small diameter at the tip. Jim was world champion of English pool in the mid 80's. He sold the shafts to me when he learned that I had an ivory Crown Jewel.

Also with this cue is a 1-off Whitten case that displays an ivory tusk slab, used by Bob Meucci to design the original Crown Jewel crown. The ivory came from Jim Rempe too. Bob gave it to him as company player representative.

When I sold the set of Roadrunner's pictures to Billiardcue.com, I was given cash to compensate the players in the picture, and my end of the deal was this cue. I guess I might sell it some day, but the cue has such a positive memory that I couldn't easily imagine doing so. Yes it may be the best example of Bob's work from that era, but there are many other reasons why I love the cue.

Joe Whitten has been able to accommodate my every request when a cue theme case project comes along. On this one, I gave him near total design freedom. I asked for a name plate and provided the tusk. He selected the special 4X2 shell and leather colors. They match the tusk and the antique finish of the maple in the cue forearm. Cheers to Joe for making a case that enhances the cue and shows part of its story.

Thanks Si

Here is a 3rd shaft for English pool I got from Jim. It looks unplayed but I cannot be sure. Jim marked his shafts in the place that has now become the red or black dot. You can see a burn on this shaft marking the side of the grain lines. I think Jim invented the idea though it too could be from Mr. Meucci.

If you come across an ebony Crown Jewel, let me know. Send a check to Jim and I will send the shaft to you! He gave the shaft to me when he moved, but I still reguard it as his.

I would have loved to be there in England as Rempe ran rack after rack against Maltese Joe to win the world title. The video of that match is my favorite Rempe performance ever. He beat the home favorite and won the love of the crowd with his stellar play.
