I'm just throwing out a phrase for contemplation so perhaps it can be avoided.

Childish Hypocrisy.

'You wore my favorite shirt & ruined it so I took your favorite pair of pants & cut them up.'

Maybe this is the wrong thread. I can keep up anymore.

And since we're having such a fine, polite time with this...

please make a statement, on behalf of you & ABP, re: Bonus Ball & put this to rest.

Funny....

I was just having a bit of fun with CJ, he seems to roll with it well. To me, it's fun having a debate about issues in a "polite" fashion, as opposed to how many of the threads end up here.

Sorry if that isn't crazy enough. Stand by, someone will be by and get outrageous, soon enough.

Creedo,

I agree with a lot of what you say - but as one who deals with this stuff a LOT,
sometimes it requires a bigger hammer to get someone's attention.

TOO much has happened in the last year - and the powers that be - never respond.

I despise ANYONE who threatens another person because of political or philisophical differences.

I think half truths can cause damage.

All I want is for pool to improve. I have decided that trying to work with the current pro players in the current format is not going to work. We will be deciding what we will do in the next 4-6 months. But it will not be the big open fields. And to a degree that is unfortunate - but I do blame the power politics and BS that so many of the US players have practiced.

How many of these 'super stars' actually helped out with the junior players? (answer: SVB, Dechaine, Jennifer Baretta, Mika Immonen, Dennis O, Busty, Cory Deuel, Ralf, Appleton, Jason Lynch, Lee Brett, Pelinga, Lumbardo, Michael Yednek. See any missing names?) Remember we had 96 pro players in attendence.

With labor, freight and added money costs, we probably spent close to $100,000 putting on 3 US Open events. Yet the ONLY people that really complained about charging late fees - or demanding we open the field - or to be allowed special priveleges - were the higher USA/ABP players.

Why do the foreign players adapt so much better? Maybe I just dont understan the issues - but it has run its course with me. Normally I am a pretty passive guy - but we busted our ass making this happen and I dont think that a lot of players appreciate it. So lets try something a little idfferent for a couple of years and see how it works.

I am not saying I know what is the right thing to do - but I do know what some fo the wrondg things are! - lol.

Wishing everyone the best in billiards. If anyone has a question or comment for me : markg@playcsipool.com

Mark Griffin

This Mark post is from someone that does as much or more to put people in competition and on tables than anyone, I'd encourage people to read this, especially the pros and people of influence - read it like 3 times (please).

With BB apparently in the cemetary, that conflict appears gone. Yet there's enough other angst that Mark is contemplating a 2 year sabitical (poor Sunny ;)).

"Super star" pros - can you make it easier for this tried, tired and true promoter to help everyone? Mark does not remotely operate like either of the BB's.

How much would someone have to come out of pocket in those 14 hour workdays? ;)

Joe, I hope this takes off. Playing in it has been better than expectation. The payouts are generous. It's brought more revenue to a hall. No BS in this one against one "league" (I never once played in a league due to BS factor).

Matt KK9 <-- finished his 7 matches and will advance to Regionals if the superstrong undefeated Robocop defeats his next guy by a few points

Is their a greater benefit in having your league in their than lets say an already existing league?

Not asking anyone to replace their existing league, just asking them to unite, host 4 high level matches a week, promote their biz and our sport. Trying to build a tour similar to golfs Nike Tour (now Web.com Tour) Would you like to help?

Well done and thanks for hopping in there last minute. I thank all the players and room owners that took a shot on something they think can be good for all of us, they took ACTION. Go Robo

Primo, and you may already know this, but others might not. This "league", sponsored by Mark Griffin with rack mechanic Joe Tucker ;) doing the heavy lifting, is 8 guys per hall. Each player plays one against one, once, 15 ball rotation call shot. One match a week, 7 weeks. Half the field advances to Regionals (and cash). Then top one or two from each region advance to the Finals - finals held next to US Open for session 1, DCC perhaps next 7 week session, etc.

Each player calls each other and plays on their own schedule. So, it's not 12 league players decending on a hall every Tuesday at 8 pm. So, surely less economic impact than an APA league.

The frickin game is awesome. Especially for players that like rotation and have some 1 hole skills under their belt.

I would try and help you out if i think its a good thing.and I have the time.

by 4 high level matches do you mean the best 8 local players in each hall would do a round robin kind of thing?

Exactly like that, 7 week round robin. Doesn't have to be 8 best, I ask room owners to pick 8 quality people, playing level is obviuosly part of it though.
The entire concept is to;
Provide our current and future players an affordable and sensible way to compete on a national level.
Provide our industry with a united product we can all be proud of.

Please take some time when you can and read a lil on our facebook page;

what are the fee's and the payouts in this,mat?

It costs a player $25/week for 7 weeks - $175 for a 7 week session. In all regions, 50% of the field will advance. In my region, each will then cash - from $100 for last to $1000 1st. Every penny of those $175's are paid out in my Regionals. Then at finals, I'm not sure what the payouts are, but 1st is thousands. Joe and Mark are going out of pocket to build this no BS thing.

Another sign of what Mark and Joe are made of, and their belief in their vision.

Depending on your region, if you're not at least a super strong B, you're dropping $175 for 7 weeks of a cool experience. I believe there are some pros in some halls, it's Open. I can't find a player list - Joe?

1st season was $25 a week for 7 weeks, 25% of country cashes, people that qualify for 2 day nationals are always guaranteed min $1,000. Payouts are based on participation and we want to give as much as possible and more once we form the official national product. This first season we're actually giving back more than came in and now we're trying to reduce some player fees by adding an amateur status option for some who want to compete with higher level players but do not expect to qualify for national events. The facebook page will fill in a lot of details.

Some of the best players are;
Donnie Mills James Roberts Tony Crosby Adam Wheeler Tom D'Alfonso
Steve Taverier Ray McNamara, Mike Dechaine slept on it and I believe he'll tell ya he should have got in, David Rowell, I had to fill a spot in Boston with Mike Minichello, Tom Mcgonagle and even had 1 female get in up their in Boston. OKC has some good players, Mark Dimmick streamed his match with Gordy last night. Steanway wanted in but was a lil busy and wanted to wait for Earl to come back. It's OPEN to everyone and there is no handicap. Sorry if I missed anybody.
