Last Day for Raffle tickets!!!
We have raised $1240 so far!!! Today is the last day for ticket purchases!!! Drawing is tomorrow night!!!

I have decided to conduct a raffle to help out one of our AZ members in the pursuit of his dream. On AZ he goes by "poolguppie04" aka Richard "The Kid" Barney, our newly crowned BEF National Champion 19 & Under. Richard is one of the nicest kids I have ever had the pleasure to meet and, as people are starting to discover, one of countries top junior talents. Besides the BEF, he is also ranked 12th on the Tiger Tour, and has won the Supper Billiards Expo Juniors the last 2 years. His win at BEF Nationals has qualified him to represent the United States this November in Willengen, Germany.
Unfortunately, however, the BEF is only able to pay for Richard to go there by himself and as he is only 15 his mother needs be able to accompany him if he is to participate. As all of us here who support him locally are finding out it is prohibitively expensive to arrange travel with the little time he and his mother have been given. Even with the BEF paying for Richard's airfaire and hotel stay the costs are looking to be over $3000.
It is to help offset some of this expense that I have arranged the donation of three items cue, a case, and a 3 day/2 night stay in Las Vegas which includes a $500 voucher to use at the hotel to raffle off here on AZ (and locally as well). AZ's own member Joe from Bamacues, who knows Richard and I well, has been nice enough to donate a brand new Meucci Bandito cue (see info below). Another local cue smith Gayle Cook has donated a brand new Talisman 3x5 leather case (again, see below), and the Munson Family, who own Hagerstown Billiards & Cafe (our home room) have donated the Vegas stay. My thanks to all of them. The lucky winning ticket holder will take home all three items together. This is one amazing package!
This is how I plan to make sure everything is kept very clear and on the up and up for everyone. I am offering 3 chances for $5, 7 chances for $10, and 20 chances for $20 dollars. Anyone who would like tickets from AZ can post a reply here on the thread as to how many chances they would like, this way everyone can see how much money has been donated. I will then pm each person with a paypal adress to forward funds to, and when received I will physically fill out raffle tickets in their name and post the numbers they received back here on AZ. Since this raffle is also being conducted locally at the pool hall I will also post ticket numbers sold that way as well (again to keep everything on the up and up). I am starting ticket sales today with this posting and will end ticket purchases at 5:00pm on October 23, 2007. That evening (time to be determined and posted) I will have a video taken of the actual drawing and check presentation to Richard and his mom, which I will immediately post on youtube with links here on AZ so that everyone can see the event for themselves. The package will be sent out the very next day to the lucky winner.
Please know that every penny we raise will go commpletely to Richard and his mom with no personal gain for myself or anyone else. I will not be elligible to win the prize package.
