Cue Stolen at Derby City

This cue was stolen from me at the Derby City Classic today while I was setting up my booth.
This was my personal playing cue that I had in a cue rack with 2 other cues.

My booth was not open for business as I was doing set up and only had a partial area of my booth open.

My best guess is that since the cue rack was close to the open area of my booth and literally about 3 feet away from me, that someone took it as they walked by the booth while my back was turned when I was hanging my cue cases.

This cue stands out and is very noticeable since it has one of my Cue Tattoo leather wraps on it with a Celtic Cross design.

I have attached a picture of what the cue looks like except that the wrap has darkened up from the natural sunlight and daily use.

If anyone has any information on this cue please PM me or if you're conscience is getting to you and find that this cue has become harder to get rid of than you thought then just return it to security and tell them you found it.......no questions asked.

Thank You,
Gil Castillo

CUE RECOVERED NEXT MORNING. GUESS THE THIEF FELT GUILTY AND LEFT IF SO SECURITY WOULD FIND IT.
THANKS EVERYONE.

May karma destroy the pos that stole your cue! So tired of seeing these threads.
I hope the individual is caught and beaten severely.

Nothing makes me madder than freaking thieves!!!

Sorry for your loss, I'm sure if any AZer notices the cue they will do something.
It's appalling that some creep would steal that cue with that wrap, but Karma is a *****.

That s just sick- i really hope that idiot get caught with your cue. Let s hope that this f...ing idiot tries to sell it to an AZB er.

I can t believe that there is no security cam installed at the DCC.

Good luck to receive your cue back,

lg from overseas,

Ingo

Dam that is crazy hope you get you cue back glad it was not the purplehart one i love so much.. Sorry man..

Gil is one of the best in the pool industry. It's really lousy that anyone should be ripped off like this, let alone, such a good guy.

It's good that your cue is so distinguishable with your "cue tattoo" wrap. Hopefully, this will help in finding the bad guy.

WTF, day one, while setting up your booth.

Aside from this bad start, I hope DCC is a great event for you.

Best,
Brian kc

Stolen cue

I passed by as you were setting up but did not stop as you were busy. I will keep an eye out for it and let the local cue repair gurus know. I hope you get it back and the thief gets what he deserves.

Hey, that sucks. I believe you lost one of your unique wraps last year too didn't you.

Seems just about every tourney I go to or read about someone loses something.

I'm convinced that it is most likely not players that are doing it. Just opportunists that frequent large events looking for this kind of action.

I hate thieves, been on the receiving end myself a couple of times so know the feeling.

Hope you get it back.

My wife and her friends ran in one of thier marathons a few months ago. When they got back to the cars, my wife's, her friend, and the car next to them all had thier car windows busted, and my wife's radio was gone. Police filled out an accident report, and the cop told my wife that they see more of these types of crimes when there is some sort of event in the area.
The silver lining of my wife's story was that they took the $80 aftermarket radio A)without destroying the console, B)only breaking the window without bending the $h!t out of the window frame, and C)left the $130 Garmin and the $200 iPod Touch in the glove box. And they'd maybe get around $25 dollars for the car radio at a pawn shop.

This obviously isn't a production cue. Where do these people think they're going to unload a cue like that ? Craigslist ? Ebay ? Can't take it anywhere, it's gonna jump out at anyone.

Thieves are idiots. Here's to hoping you get the cue back, Gil...

And further confirmation of what Mickey is saying, there was an incident a year or so ago in Bridgeport, CT where two young bank robbers actually called ahead to the People's United bank to announce that they would be arriving in approximately 5 minutes and they were going to be in a big hurry so please have the money ready for them. Of course, rather than bagging up the money, they called the police and, yes, the geniuses did show up looking for the money only to be arrested. :grin-square:

Have we entered an age where criminals think they can phone in a bank robbery as if they were ordering takeout pizza?

Yep, they're mostly not the brightest people.

Best,

You're not getting it back.......

......if I run into the person that stole it and he still has it because I'm going to break the cue over the MF'ers head !!!

Sorry-assed thieves oughta be beaten with SOMETHING!!!

Maniac

That's a shame, hopefully the unique nature of the cue will help you get it back.

I noticed Billy Incardona last night on the live stream was wearing a money belt. Taking no chances.

The person that stole the cue must have repented, read all the posts of everyone after him on AZ, or just realized that the cue wasn't worth very much except to it's owner because I went to security this morning and they had it sitting there.
The thief must have dumped it somewhere after realizing it wasn't a Scruggs or anything of that sort.

All my Good Karma must be coming back to me because I really didn't expect to see this cue ever again.

The cue really isn't worth that much (it's a Dufferin Sneaky) but it's one of the best hitting cues I've ever played with.
Not sure why it plays so well but I've had lots of offers to buy it from me after I let people play with it.

Thanks everyone for the concern and to AZ for any help in getting my cue back.
