True dat.

They also like to claim they don't, not ever, do any anonymous trolling... somehow forgetting their own use of aliases.

Who would you be talking about? Roadie? A guy who harmed no one and who was always polite?

My brother Michael in Toronto?

My dear wife Karen?

Did Karen troll you? Did Mike?

No one said you can't be anonymous. But when you use anonymity to defame it's much different. But I don't even think I mentioned anons in this thread previously.

No one cares much if you are an anonymous guy in a bar enjoying your drink. They care a lot if you're an anon running around with a knife slashing people.

There is another poster Long Time that used to make a Deal out of posters that were considered Anon.

If they were new members, recent join date and low post count, their posts were considered to be less credible.

And Heaven forbid that any new member had an opinion of their own, valid or not.

They were automatically dubbed Anon Haters. Hardly a fair deal for them, right. And yet, they never chased a member, from the board. Yeah sure.

Honestly, I have seen new members get chased off within a few posts, never to return.

Their only crime, to think that they were welcome to join in on any conversation.

And to try and be fair, in the heat of a Flame War, many new memberships do appear on occasion.

On the other hand, it is as how I described it at times. Members with an early join date but low post count. Their only mistake was to have joined in on the wrong Thread and get torn a new one.

It is what it is on AZB. I believe that we would welcome any Pro that wants to post. It seems that lately, pretty much any Name that makes a Thread here has an angle. The members have caught on to it, got old real quick and they get chased off.

So, don't blame the general membership, blame the scammers that try and take advantage of the generosity that is displayed here frequently.

Not long ago, a couple of kids got money for Church Camp. Another member had a Father that was a little short and the members of NPR got together and raised enuff money for 2 new pair of work boots.

Its not always as it seems. We just try and keep the scamming down to a minimum.

Some people keep aliases handy. Nothing funnier than watching someone post arguments easily torn to shreds then that same someone under their more commonly used alias tears the arguments they just put forward to shreds! When you can't win arguments or discussions with other people you can shine in glory "brilliantly" shooting down the alias that you control also.

As an Admin on a forum I saw the IP from which every poster was posting right in the header. It was great fun to watch someone indignantly saying that they weren't the other poster and had no connection with them while they were both posting from the identical IP address! Pretty easy to see the same thing here when I bothered to look. Easiest to defeat a straw man when you build him yourself.

It was an alias for a banned member -- what does it matter if Roadie was polite?

How do you know? Since you were in the military you understand the term above your pay grade. This one is above your pay grade.

Why are oft-banned members allowed to come back anyway ???
How pathetic is that when they're aliases get banned too?
And why would they want to keep coming back to a place where they get banned often ?

I think it's because they get banned before they've said everything they want to say.
Some people obviously have more to say than most, they want to be heard, so they return under an alias.
As long as it's obvious who the alias really is, and the mods don't care, then it's not a big deal.
The real problems are with the scammers creeping back in all the time.
