Dale Perry Galore

There is a Titlist conversion listed right now for $1800, years ago this might have sold but the true value of this particular cue is probably a big question mark right now.

I bought a Dale Perry on e-bay about 3 months ago because I liked the rosewood butt with turquoise filled points. I paid $177 for it with shipping included. I've played with it exclusively for the last 3 months and really like the solid hit. The finish is perfect and I have received many comments on the cue. He builds a good cue for the money. Too many nasty comments on this website about his cues as well as McDermott, Cuetec, Meucci and Joss production made cues. It seems to some people that if the cue doesn't cost $500 plus, then is just isn't good. If you buy cues for an investment then good for you. But keep the nasty comments down on less expensive cues. I buy a cue to play with and use everyday. Not to keep in a closet and hope that someday I can sell it for a few dollars more than I paid for it. The fun is in playing the game not showing off some expensive piece of wood. Lighten up guys.

I bought a dp on ebay for $220.00.and it iis a great hitting cue and is not as cheap as people are lead on to believe.the people who say they are not good cues are just mad because they paid hundreds more for theirs.

Say what? Im not mad at anyone buddy, if you choose to shoot with that cue, good for you, knock yourself out, but to me, there is no way in hell your sub 200.00 DP plays anywhere near as good as my Scruggs. And yes, I have played with a DP, and I would still choose a McDermott, Viking, Joss, or Schon over it. I dont care so much about fancy looks or collector value, I want a playing cue too, and after hitting with a cue like a Scruggs, or even a good old McD or Joss, the DP loses its appeal. But hey, thats my opinion, and many many others feel very similar, but that means squat, cuz if you like it, and can shoot good with it, then go for it, but trying to say we are all just mad cuz we paid too much for our cues is just plain silly.:wave3:

Ive played with $1000-$2000 cues that I thought hit like shyt, and Ive hit with $100 cues that play lights out, but after playing with my cues, going to a DP is a drastic step backwards. It has nothing to do with collecting or resale value, its the playability for me. I have played with a DP, and like I said in the previous post, I would take any American made production cue over a DP, but thats me, not you, and for the record, I am lightened! lol!

One of the best playing cues I ever held in my hands was a Dale Perry back in 1990. 6 points, razer sharp, perfect finish, balance, etc....

For along time I regretted not buying it from Best Billiards in LA. He really used to turn out a terrific cue.

I've played with a few of the current DP's, and while they hit OK, they are nothing to write home about in terms of construction.

I bought a Dale Perry on E-bay because I liked the way it looked. I've been playing with it for about 2 months now and really like it. In my opinion it is extremely well built with an excellent finish and I play well with it. I've received many comments about the cue - all very positive. It's about time people judged a cue on quality, looks, and feel instead of price and cuemaker. I buy a cue to play with and not to put in a closet hoping to resell it at a profit in a year or two.

Amen brother. All the complainers of DP cues are just resellers out for profit and investment. For US players it is nice to be able to get such a quality cue at the price we can. So all you DP haters stop Bagging and start Bragging. About his quality vs. price.

I think Dale Perry makes one of the best lower to mid level production cues available. For $200 or less, they are great for league players, etc. They rank right up there with Lucasi and some of the other better made imports. However, you don't get the lifetime warranty (even against warpage) offered by other American production cuemakers, McDermott and Viking.

If you want an investment grade or custom cue, however, Dale Perry is not the cue to buy.
