It can be done. I dropped out of high school and started a family at a young age. At 30 years old I had to reinvent myself due to corporate down sizing. I found myself back in the job market with few prospects and no diploma or college.

I decided to take the test for my GED. My wife said I probably wouldn't pass without taking the prep classes but I gave it a shot. I wanted to have my GED in time to start the fall semester in college. So I took it. I got a perfect score on my Science, missed a couple on the Math and barely passed the English. :rolleyes: Go figure, why are there so many pool players with poor grammar and comprehension?
I started classes, got my degree and landed a decent job. It wasn't easy but if you put your mind to it and don't mind going in debt to Sallie Mae you can do it!

Danny is such a great guy you can't help but like him. I hope there are good things coming for him in his future, he could use a few rolls in life.
 
Ill never forget when I first saw Danny play at Family Billiards in SF. He came looking for T-Rex and got em. 5 Ahead one-pocket for 5k. Match was over as quick as it started :cool:

The top 10 players can average $80 to $150K in tournament winnings but it then drops off precipitously. To the positive side that doesn't include sponsor money, side games, appearances etc. To the negative side there are a lot of travel expenses, you're away a lot, etc.

Certainly if you can reside in the top 5 tier consistently and love what you're doing I would have to believe it beats driving a cab!

Danny is doing good , still close to the game. I was fortunate enough to take a lesson with him fathers day weekend. We met in philly and had a great time. A lot of people recognized him right away when he walked in and a couple of people wanted to get in on some action as well.

Great guy to be around and has some great stories and can still play lights out. Just demonstrating the shots he had me do you can see the talent he has.
