Darren Appleton world 10 ball champ!!!!!

I was there. Watched the finals. One of the best played finals ever by Darren, against another one of the best played by Wu. With all due respect, the way Darren was playing I'd have given him an even chance or favored him against any of the boycott players. In Manila before the event Darren could not get any action because no one wanted to play him. How do you like them Apples? Great job Darren! I did not know he had only been playing American pool for 2 and 1/2 years!?! What! That's crazy.

What?! Darren gets weight from Gomez. You must have gotten your timeline messed-up. Now don't flame me for this because it's just the answer I got from Gomez after I saw your post.

Here's what Gomez said, "I give Darren weight when we play, will it look right to still give a world champion weight?".

Maybe somebody from Darren's side can shed light to this "weight" thing. I myself was surprised cause I was out of the loop for a while taking care of BMPAP work.

Ok, Jarome Pena is here in my shop, as I type, for some cue work on a cue that Alcano's going to use for the US Open.

Jharome and Darren played before WTBC and so did Warren. Jharome beat Darren twice and lost to him once. Warren Kiamco beat Darren in 8 and 10 Ball before the WTBC.

That's the info directly from who Darren played before the WTBC.

Jharome said that Darren gets asked to play the moment they see him and he's lost most of those matches before the WTBC.

Another info is, NONE of the Taiwanese won against Carlo and Jharome when they were here for the WTBC. Chang Jun Lin got a terrible beating from Gabica(BSCP).

what could be the reason?

In Manila, if you ask for action, you'll get action, anytime, any day....

You sure stirred the hornets nest Max. Are you part of the propaganda machine against the BMPAP? Would you like to stake Darren or do you want to step-up yourself. Somebody's willing to give you the wild 6&8 in 10-Ball. Or the wild 8 from teenage Revo if you want. You're still here right? Someone just saw you last night in Mabini.

What an agressive post... Take it easy.

Max was just expressing his congratulations to Darren.

Spoken like a true champion! Once again, congrats Daz!!!

How about the loot Daz? Is it by wire transfer or by mail? And when?

no pun intended...

just caught a replay of the finals in espn and i've got to tell you, darren appleton played some really good pool against wu that night. wu made some errors you wouldn't think he'd make, and appleton got out of some really crazy safeties. one particular shot i remember well was when he escaped a great safety by wu by banking off the long rail and pocketing the object ball as well! evoked shades of the famous shot by the magician (but that was a two-rail)! great and exciting play by both finalists with the better player that night winning it all

thanks

thanks renegade looking forward tio watching myself when i get the recordings lol

gopi they said would recieve money by wired withing 2 weeks this was 7 days ago ..so no panic yet :)

None of my business but I am curious as to whom is willing to spot Max the 6, 8 in 10ball. I understand if you do not want to divulge such info as to not affect Max's decision.

I was at One Side the night Gabica got beaten by Chang for 200,000p. It was a short race to fifteen Ten Ball. I believe the final was 15-10. Shane lost 200K to Warren the same night playing Ten Ball in a longer race. Maybe Gabica won on another night.

One last comment. Darren won the one that really counted, THE WORLD TITLE! And he won 4,700,000p, a slightly bigger score!

LOL - Apparently even the Phillipines suffers from poolhall "fishing story" syndrome.

This is where when you walk in you are told that the guys in the back corner are playing $5000 a game one pocket. By the time you get to the back you find out they are playing $5 a game 8-ball. :-)

It's like those games where you "whisper" a secret in someone's ear and have them repeat it to the next person and laugh at how distorted it becomes 100 people down the line.

If someone in the Phillipines wants to give Max Eberle the 6 out and the breaks I'll bet some on Max. Otherwise I will take the 5, 8, last two and the breaks. Max is an artist, not a pool player. :-)

I'd like to know who offered Max the 6 and 8 in Ten Ball. I may take a piece of that action, if Max wants to play. Max is a world class player, not exactly a shortstop. Even in the PI, he may be low second tier to high third tier. The man can play!

I guess I'll just have to agree with you that Max is an artist.
