Today we moved the DB from the old server to the new one. Please let me know if there is anything broken. The site should be quite a bit faster now.

maybe not related, but...

I don't know if it is related to moving to a new server, but if the forum software is different, it could be.

I noticed that if you open a single post, such as from the link below, the "Close this window"
button does not cause the window to be closed. This problem seems to only occur if you
open the link in a new window though.

I have not tried this for quite a while, so it may not be related to the recent move.

Image Atch Facility Not Working

The database will NOT transfer an image file from my computer so that it can be attached and displayed in-line in messages I compose. I JUST tried this again over at the Test forum -- and YES, THE IMAGE I ATTEMPTED TO TRANSFER IS LESS THAN 100K.

I have NEVER had any problem with this before, as long as I made sure that File size was less than 100K. After my first attempts earlier this evening, I spent almost an hour going over and re-checking ALL possible user's settings, as well as all possble methods of transfer. I even re-booted my computer, then disconnected and reconnected my Cable iInternet to get a new IP and several other such things.

I NOW KNOW FOR CERTAIN that I was using the proper methodology when I was attempting this transfer -- ergo, something is wrong with this function on your new server set-up.

Many thanks in advance for your attention to this problem.

OK, we know what is causing the problem with uploading images and it will be fixed today.

Now that the database has been moved, I can go in and fix the issue with the user galleries not working correctly.

The server move has been a success from my point of view. THANKS!

FWIW, i lost of bunch of pics I uploaded to another forum's gallery once. Another time the links were broken. Each time this occured during a server upgrade...that's why I always use a site like photobucket to host my pics.

Further, photobucket does not have time limit either...I can go back to very old threads of mine and my pics are still there...most of the others (from other hosts or the forum itself) are dead.

I'm not criticising this board, just giving fair warning.

Please GET RID OF THE WORD 'FORUM' in you link.

My filter at work set up by the IT gurus blocks all forums. So I have to log on another network to get in to AZBilliards.

Thanks.

As others have said, the upload feature for pictures doesn't work, but I am glad to learn that it will be fixed.

This must be what they call "growing pains" since AzBilliards is the most popular pool-related website on the net, bar none. It seems to be where pool enthusiasts around the world log in when they want to know what's happening. As the premier website in pool, growing pains is, I guess, the cost of being the best! This too shall pass! :p

Oh, one more thing I noticed that is different with the forum today is the banners up at the top.

When I had a 17-inch monitor, the AzBilliards logo banner on the LEFT and the advertising banners on the RIGHT would never be on the same line. The AzBilliards logo banner dropped down below the advertising banner. This made one-third of my screen view the banners and two-thirds the actual forum area.

Then I got a new computer with a 19-inch monitor and both banners could be on one line. This morning, the banners are again separated, with the advertising banner on the top right and the AzBilliards logo banner below it on the left. This takes up one-third of my screen.

I guess if I had a 21-inch-plus monitor, I wouldn't notice it. :o

Maybe if the AzBilliards banner was a wee bit smaller, it would fit better at the top, allowing them to be on one line as well as a BIGGER forum area for reading.

I am not being critical, but thought I'd just make an observation.

The "additional info" links on the right side of the "online event coverage" or "online brackets" page are not working.

Just playing around. I am addicted to AZ too and would be very upset if I couldn't get on at work. Shhhhhh.... don't tell anyone I work with.

I'm sure Mike would hate to limit the amount of time you can spend accusing him of being APA7 and cheerleading for FL. LOL!

I'm sorry. I couldn't refrain because the irony of your request was too blatant for me to pretend not to see it.

You're not the only one with this problem from what I understand.

A post or two of mine seemed to disappear, but nothing else has gone wrong lately.

Appreciate the speed boost :)

Mike, I can't find tonights winning lottery ticket # anywhere on AZ. Can you please fix this.

Thanks,

Mike, I couldn't resist. I hope the transfer keeps going smooth. Sometimes these thing take a little time.

Please keep up the good work.
