Hi,

Here is Dav's new cue he designed and I built to his playing spec. 2 12.75 shafts with 1/2" Ge Micarta Ferrules on my parabolic compound taper in to a super pro configuration.

Tulipwood forearm and butt sleeve. Ebony points and compound razor boxes with ivory inlays. 4 point 4 veneers - yellow, green, orange and black with a Brown Elephant Ear Wrap.

Pics are marginal from my phone as my SLR camera was malfunctioning. Sorry!

Thanks Dav for being such a gentlemen making this build very rewarding for me to work with you. The result is your beautiful cue design being born!

Rick

I had the privilege to see this cue in person, and trust me. It will not disappoint! The workmanship and tight tolerances are second to none. Very beautifully executed! Great job Rick!!

The green veneers on the tulipwood look fabulous and the wrap is a perfect fit for the color scheme of this cue.
This cue design has a lot going for it. Look forward to reading the new owner's comments.

Damn Rick you do GOOD work

Thanks Murph,

I put the finishing touches on this cue last week and it was done the week of my 10th year anniversity as a cue maker when I made my first two piece out of a house cue on my cue repair lathe at my pool hall. So I guess this is my 10 year anniversity cue. LOL.

My dad used to say if you throw enough crap against a wall some has to stick. So thank you for your comments on my good work. It is only a result of many attempts in my early years and many failures in cue building. It is always an on going process to raise the bar of expectation of the finished product.

I really wish I could have taken better pics of this cue for my archive and to showcase here but my batt on my hi res SLR camera went bad and I wanted to ship the cue to Davor. You can hardly see the veneer colors with the camera phone.

Dav was very brave on his veneer choice opting for the green rather than the blue or purple which is part of the tonality of the Tulipwood. During the build I must say that even I had my doubts about his choice. That was until I put the finish on the cue and buffed it out. It was very striking like a butterfly coming out of the cacoon.

The pics here from my cell phone do not do this veneer combo any justice as it is stunning next to the Tulipwood for sure and gives this cue a unique personality. Dav taught me something on this one concerning veneer combo choices. It is good to be bold!

Very cool except I'd like to see some type of inlay at the top of the veneer pack between the points. Just a personal preference.

I do love the colors!

Thanks Ryan,

I have done one like that with dot inlays on top and it did work out pretty good. I always give the owner the option but so far only one opted for the inlay on the end.

Looks real nice Rick. I love that deep orangey color of good tulipwood! Martin
