DCC Bits and Pieces

The Shannon Murphy vs Josh Filler match was one of the best pool sets I have ever watched. It had it all. Great play on both sides, some big momentum swings, plenty of rail barking and a unbelievable comeback by Shannon. Congrats, he deserved to win.

And that room looks tough too.

A lotta folk would have trouble spelling their own names in there.

I agree it was one hell of a bank pool match to sweat.

Both players had huge support in the room from fans with deep pockets willing to wager and cheer on their favorite.

Two great players respectfully battling it out on the table and the fans loving every minute of it.

Six ahead is pretty tough action. It will be very hard for two such evenly matched players for either one to take that big a lead. Five ahead would be hard, but more doable. This one could go on a long time and end up with a settlement at the end. The match is worth $833 per game, so if one guy ends up two games ahead when they quit, the settlement would be $1,666.

I wish Filler would just go to bed soon and be at his best for the 9-Ball tournament. He plays Shaw at 10 am tomorrow. He can win $16,000 there.

Filler was 4 games ahead.

Filler can win way more than 16k in the action room, and he only has to beat one or two guys to do it, not best a field of 400 lol

They were playing $45,000 a game in there the other night, huge money floating around in there.

That much money can attract the wrong people. As for me, if I'm ever carrying 50 large I want my two bodyguards along with me. You know, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.
Little Ms. Browning saved my ass one night a long time ago in Bakersfield, CA.

It was nothing to see 100 - 200k or more won or lost at Griffs while I was there. Probably the same player as Vegas.

Very good chance it's one of the the same players lol

He was down 9 games at 45k per game at one point, and came all the way back and got even :shocked2:

What I'm saying is that I think guys who are real threats to win one of the major events should do their best to be in good shape for those matches. Playing different games late into the early morning may not be the best preparation. Pace yourself. Winning the primary events here will be of lasting significance to those players.
