Deleting threads

I miss John..He was definitely passionate...Not sure about the logic.. He could sound like CJ at times, but he looked better at the table !. ;)

PS..Lou, clean up your spelling and verbage. (have you been drinking again ?)

Well, logic in the same sense that a Fun House Hall of Mirrors makes sense :-)

CJ joined in May, 2010, posted 21 times over the following two months, then did not post at all (at least in threads that have survived) for over 2 years. So his flood of over 9,000 posts has really come in less than 2 ½ years (rather than 4 ½). He has averaged about 10.4 posts per day in that period.

But in his post #131 (to which you were responding), despite his wording, I think his reference was actually to threads rather than posts.

I see your point re: threads v posts, AL.

Also like your use of the word "flood." 9,000 posts in 2.5 years. phew, no wonder it's felt like an onslaught.

As far as DVD sales go, I sell very few myself, the ones I do sell I usually autograph. My business strategy is simple, always give more in value than I receive in compensation. Judging by my responses I've held up my end of this bargain.

Accu-stats video productions wholesales my products, through a good friend of mine, Dave Thomson, of 'Medium Pool' - as of three months ago they had sold more of my DVDs in 2014 than all other instructional videos put together.

Pat Fleming (owner of Accu-stats) and I go way back, when I started out on the pro circuit Pat was the only one doing pool video productions. Pat actually filmed the first Pro Event I played in Reno when I beat Nick Varner, then Steve Mizerak (this match was the best selling video of that year), with commentary by Billy Incardona and Buddy Hall.

Why are the sales so high with Accu-stats? The answer is they're not, the pool market is at an all time low, and the money for products are few and far between.

I've been a martial arts teacher, billiard room owner, and pool instuctor for 23 years, this is my "bread and butter," professional pool is something else, it's my passion. If I never sold another DVD I would still be posting regularly, I made a three year commitment to azbilliards and I will live up to that goal.
accu-stats-open.jpg

My other goals are to help pool enthusiasts enjoy the game more, and to promote it to the general public in a format that will be entertaining and lead to a weekly TV Show.

I'm getting advanced in age and won't be around forever - when I'm on my death bed It's important to look back and know I dedicated myself to something worthwhile - for a game that gave me a lifetime of adventures, teaching me about life through experiences I could have received no other way. 'The Game is my Teacher'

You do your thing man. You have faded all the haters.

More of us want to see you play on bigger stages. Why not Super Billiards in April?

Gotta agree on both counts with Neil. CJ is not witty or kind in the least.

In John's case... I have a lot of crazies on Ignore but never John, because in spite of his faults he was articulate, honest, and passionate. His posts had their own internal logic. CJ couldn't find logic if you spotted him if A equals B and B equals C.

I said "threads," didn't I? Did they think I posted in posts? LoL

It took me those two years to prepared all my pre written posts for last year. ;) I keep my posts and threads in a hermetically sealed mayonnaise jar on FUNK & WAGNALL's Porch (so I have a copy in case the thread is deleted).

Yeah, you said posts when you meant threads. ["Last year I posted in less than 1% of the total posts, and averaged posting in only 2 a day."] That's a pretty common mistake by lots of people. I see you have edited it now.

It was pretty obvious....

CJ,

I think that was in a hermetically seal envelop, in a mayonnaise jar...on Funk & Wagnall's front porch, since NOON TODAY!

Probably 1/2 on here do not even know from where that comes.

I wish I sweated 'dislikers' as well as you do.

Best 2 Y'a,

It would be very interesting to have a post count on Mr. Wiley, but ONLY in the posts that appeal to his limited sphere of interest.. Ie; martial arts, yoga, dark (?) religion, L Ron Hubbard, Taiwanese Monk's, Omaha Fats, and stuff like that !...CJ dominates ALL these threads, by at least 50 to 1, over all other posters combined !..:embarrassed2:

He has claimed he contributes less than 1% to this forum..I call B.S. !..I think he has voiced his opinion, on the WWW, and all other media combined, more than that !....But, whos counting ???

PS..He knows I don't really care..I just like to watch him squirm ! :D

...He should also know by now, I am not your average duck ! ;)

He grew up in nine miles from Milan in an off-the-map place called Green City, a corn-and-cattle community some 150 miles from Kansas City and out in the middle of nowhere. The thrill capital of the world it was not. Green City is smaller than even your typical small town: 629 people back then according to Wiley, no stoplights, and no movie theaters.

"A big night there was drinking beer and driving around the town square," he says with a sardonic laugh. "But even to do that , you had to be old enough to drink."

Wiley, though, found a way to amuse himself early. At 7 years old, cutting an especially shrewd and novel idea with his mother, he convinced her to let him play pool on Saturdays with the $2 she'd pay for his baby-sitter.

"I was a little leery at first," his mother says, "I didn't like the image of the poolroom for a small child. But after I looked it over, it didn't seem so bad, and besides, the owner promised me he''d keep an eye on him."

Barely tall enough to reach the table, Wiley played at the only poolroom in town, a three-table place called Cleeton's, owned by family friend Orrin Cleeton. The joint had three old Brunswicks and a dusty backroom where the old men played gin rummy.

At first, he played only rotation and 8-ball.

"By the time I was 11, I was already the best player in town," he says. "It got so nobody would even play me."

The kid was a natural. At age 11 years-old, still completely self taught, he ran two straight racks of 8-ball form the break: at 13, he ran a rack of rotation; at 15, he discovered 9-ball and started running racks at an alarming rate.

A 50 year old man bringing up his Mother on a pool forum is very disgusting and disrespectful and a true low point, even for you. Being an awkward, lonely, self-absorbed boy with no friends is not abnormal for a poolplayer. Shane is also one who has excelled for the same reasons as have many others.

Try showing some class and leaving your Mother out of it.

Pulling the trigger at the Cotton Bowling Palace.

Speaking of squirming.

Charlie Boyd says "hi" - he always said the worse decision of his life was not pulling the trigger at the Cotton Bowling Palace.

It's like when a great road hustler goes into a city and for the first couple of weeks and beats everyone he plays, often times getting weight from the local shortstops. Gradually he starts spotting the weaker players and playing the shortstops even, still getting all the money. Then finally he ends up spottting the best players in town and busts everyone, rail and stakehorses included. Now that he's been "exposed" he has no option but to leave town and seek out new action elsewhere.

Yes, you're right DTL..That is how it is on the road !..This is how almost every decent pool player/hustler operates !..The main operative here though, is to "keep moving"...It takes a certain mindset to enjoy that way of life !..I admit, I did it for a while, but I never enjoyed stalling with banger's..I always let them know real quick, I wanted the best, highest $$$ player in town ASAP !..Why spend a week on the nut, playing $5 pool, when the most you might win, is $500 ?

Call me different, but I didn't care to spend a week 'anywhere' away from home, unless I was sure there was a big "go-off" in that particular town...I'm sure my lack of patience, may have cost me a few bucks, but I think I made up for in volume, by staying on the move !..In any event, I'm sure glad I eventually found a better way to live, before I burned out completely ! ;)

We saw the possibility of deleted threads early on so SpiderWeb made a cool program

Johnny Carson was a funny guy. It seems like everyone with the name "Carson" has that magical gift of humor. ;)

We saw the possibility of deleted threads early on, so SpiderWeb made a program that backs up ever thread, downloads it on a CD, then it automatically is sealed in a mayonnaise jar and stored in the "Ultimate Secrets" vault with the original TOI documents.

Not that you would care, but it is impolite to include "inside jokes" when dealing with a broad audience !..In any event,
FYI, Charlie Boyd never tried to "pull the trigger" on me in Dallas ! (or anywhere else in Texas)...He knew he would have to answer to Billy T. Dyer, Garon Hensley, Geo.McGann, or a few of my other good friends ! ;)

PS..You should have tried to cultivate a few friends, yourself...Martial Arts, didn't work to good against Charlie's Colt 45,
when he caught you in the john..did it..??? (I will have to check with Alfie, to see how much he 'charged' you) :o
