Delta-13 Review

I was at the US Open 10 Ball last week where the Delta was being used. The pros had no problems racking the balls and we all know how particular they can be about a good rack. It was nice to watch a match without the extra time it takes when struggling with getting a tight rack every game.

Tell you something else, I've got to get a set of those inserts because they really do work. The racks at this tournament sounded like any plastic or wood rack. Big difference.

I agree with the sound issue, they sell leather inserts that quite them way down & almost sound wood like

well worth the money

It's incredible how much of a difference the leather inserts make.I picked-up some up from Mike Fieldhammer.Well worth every penny! Thanks Mike!!

Delta-13 + Leather Inserts =

= The best rack I have ever used.
With the inserts I cannot distinguish the sound from a wooden rack.

I own the following racks:
Plastic
A very beefy and expensive oak rack
Chameleon rack
Sardo Tight Rack

None are as good as the Delta-13. I keep the other racks because I am a pack rat.

I have the regular model. After using it I wish that I purchased the better model. Didn't know the difference at the time. It is a great rack and worth the money.

I have the cast one, and the dealer did not have leather inserts for
it as they are different than the ones for the elite version. I would
like to get some inserts for my cast version.

I just bought one,I can't tell any difference in the rack from the wood racks I have used over the years, head ball still moves when rack removed.
It is loud and annoying,if I had a good wood rack or even the plastic I would be happier

I got one of the Delta 13 racks the inexpensive one and put some felt strips on inside makes it QUIETER !!!!

did you have the one thats epoxy painted? I've noticed that the lead ball will it seems to stick to that epoxy coating and will roll out......havent used the anodized one just yet.

I bought a Delta 13 rack a few months ago for my home table and I liked how it racked, but it was really loud. After reading some of these reviews I ordered the leather inserts. I have to agree that it changed the loud pingy noise to that of a wood rack. I am very happy with the rack now and see no need for a different one.

Someone educate me, please. What's so great about this that makes it worth the money? Is it that the metal doesn't give or change with humidity? Does the cheaper ($70) version do as good a job as the Elite?

I can understand a plastic rack showing elasticity and this doesn't, but what makes it so superior to wood?

I have the cheap version. Great rack but make lots of noise. I recently played in Ventura and the rack there had the inserts. WOW, what a difference in noise.

Sometimes the balls stick to wood racks. Wood breaks and splinters. The nice Diamond racks are a close second to the inserted Delta

Thank you very much!

Is there an appreciable difference between the Elite and Select models?

I believe it is primarily quality control and construction. Look at the pictures of each on their website. The corner construction is different, the Elite being a stronger design. There FAQ seems to say each Elite is measured before it is sent.

The Select might not hold its tolerance as long due to the construction. Only a sample of the Selects would be periodically measured as a QA/QC check. A select might be perfect or somewhere less than perfect.

So the best Elite off the shelf and the best Select off the shelf probably would show no appreciable difference. The worse Elite off the shelf and the worse Select off the shelf would most likely have a measurable difference. And, there might be a difference between the two after years of heavy use, which is why their site requests pool hall owners purchase the Elite.
