I just want to clarify that I don't have all the answers. I'm no immigration expert. I do know what happened to Dennis though. He is okay and on his way home. I'm getting educated now on the best way to deal with this. It looks like there may be hope for a reduction in time but it could also be a long process in making that happen. Yes, it's a mess that probably could have been avoided, but it's not the end of the world. We just have to deal with it from here. Lord knows I've made my share of mistakes. The hard ones are the ones we learn from.
One other thing. THANK YOU to everybody who's showed concern for Dennis and the people who have offered constructive advice both on here and privately.

I travel a lot internationally. I’ve hit 43 countries in my life. Probably 23-25 in the last 7 years. I usually stay 10-30 days when I go somewhere.
I always play by their rules. Never had a problem. Few places I could feel the American hate-but still never a issue.
Know the rules, follow them. Not a problem

Sounds like Dennis could be victim of not paying attention to his Visa expiration date or dates. Or policies on visiting the USA on Visa.
Dennis blew it, got caught in system, now is banned from USA.
I am sure today at some airport in the use 50 or more other people got the same treatment, and no one cares.

I would think if he is wealthy try a good lawyer, but that could be a lot of

The other consideration is that there is no guarantee that even if he hadn't overstayed the last time that he would be granted a visa to come back again. You have to show a certain wealth to have multi entry visa status. Co signers generally don't get it done.

I kinda like him too, but sometimes ignore is necessary lolHonestly I go easy on him. 10 years ago he was pretty cool. I think age has kicked in.
I noticed that after being gone from here for 7 years. People change. I fixed my writing a bit. Cowboy got mad. Who knows? In any event I don’t wish bad on him. I hope he finds happiness and peace
