Contract

Forgive me is this has been stated previously but does anyone know if French is out any money over this deal? Did he give Dennis money or pay for any lodging, travel, etc. in all of this mess?

I saw it wasn't in the contract but that doesn't mean that he didn't come out of pocket for some things or some money. It would suck if he did and then when Dennis won something, he refused to pay and French got stiffed but we are all jumping on French.

Seems to me if you are voiding the contract, both parties should be made whole. I'm guessing Dennis didn't pay French anything over this time period but I'll bet French paid for something along the way.

They agreed the money situation is a wash.

Looking at that contract again, I can't figure out if he was to be a player rep, or pimp........street girls are treated better.

@ bank it. Do you really think a corporate sponsor would look at this current fiasco and decide to invest money? And other situations like it? It's a catch 22. Top players gamble in part because they can't make steady income from tourneys. However there's no steady income because nobody will promote pool partly because of the gambling

There are so many hilarious and negative things that could be (accurately) said about French but the one that speaks loudest is that the guy is such a mental defect that he actually thought that publicly showing the contract would make Dennis O look bad and make himself look like a victim.

In an entire lifetime, one comes across people this dumb on only a few occasions.

Not necessarily...

As I had posted quite a while back... It was French's brother who posted the contract... it's possible he was just an idiot and thought it might make his brother look better to go ahead and post the contract to show that Dennis was obligated and wasn't following through..

If French gave him permission to post it, then they're both bone heads...

I think that Dennis has at least learned the lesson that he should have Jay or somebody else that he has known and trusted for quite a while examine a contract before he signs it. Perhaps French seemed trustworthy but he obviously was not.

Corporate sponsors don't give a rats butt about French or anything else that doesn't get people thinking about their products or flat out buying them. It isn't about Pepsi or anyone promoting pool.. it's what can pool do for those companies to get their money backing the tournaments. Nobody is going to organize a pool tour just to put their name out. The pool tour needs to be organized in a manner that is attractive to advertisers. Will they be getting their product in front of ten people? Ten thousand? Will it increase the purchases of their product?

I was talking to a bar manager not long ago. He was saying how there are restrictions on things like alcohol advertising. He couldn't accept cash on behalf of the bar from an alcohol company for advertising, but as a vendor or entertainment company, i could. Now, if i could get a brewer's name and product out there in dozens of new places, that's something worthwhile.

Many places have banned cigarette companies and alcohol companies from sponsoring sporting events (although they may be able to advertise the hell out of their products during the broadcast).

Cue sports may not be exempt from this. For example, my recollection is that the snooker tour took a hit when the tobacco companies had to stop sponsoring the events.

It was posted in multiple places by him, his brother, and "Sarah French".

Must run in the family gene pool.

Then they're all idjits...he should run away from the pool world, I don't see this going well for him at all...

If you think an attorney drew up that contract I have a bridge to sell ya or maybe a little prime land in Louisiana.

That is what I was thinking too, I doubt French has been within 1000 yards of an attorney on any of this BS.
