Diamond bar boxes are trash

Predator 7' tables play great (they do have a cheap sounding tinny sound when pocketing a ball). 7' Brunswick GCc tables play great.

Diamond is the only brand that is this polarizing.

Welcome to America lol whenever something becomes to popular or people like something to much someone has to come through to complain about it and tear it down lol

Never heard or saw a 7' GC table, did see the 8 footers in New Orleans at the Sportsmans in the 70's.

It's called a Gold Crown Coin. GCc for short. It came out about 4 or 5 years ago. It's nice, the rails bounce just like the full size Gold Crown. Not many out there though. Archer's room (now closed) had them. There were also one at this year's Expo in the Brunswick booth and Savanah Easton was playing on it and it was playing jam up.

Not really in this case. The polarization started because Diamond cushions were artificially fast and artificially short rebound angles since the tables were introduced. The tables were half the price of Gold Crown tables, because the Diamond factory sold directly to the pool room or individual. There was no middle-man. They even used this a selling point in their brochures. When a GC was 8k in the early 2000's, a Diamond was 4k. This lead to a lot of places buying Diamond.

Now fast forward 20 years and so many players never even played on a proper Gold Crown table, they've only ever played on a Diamond.

I rarely get on seven footers. My experience is to move the grip hand forward three or four inches.

About the Diamonds, they can't be put together by a hack, seven foot or nine foot! Somebody that didn't know what they were doing recovered some nine foot Diamonds. The six original ones played great, corner pockets were monsters when the rail angles were just a gnat's ass off.

Any of the better tables are fine to play on if a good mechanic maintains them. Big pockets, little pockets, doesn't matter. Any table can be hacked up too!

The biggest problem with Valley tables is how they are often recovered. Owners want mechanics gone in a hurry and tables back in action. A bunch of time can be saved by doing the cushions down the road at the mechanic's shop. You see a garbage can full of cushions come in with the mechanic, watch out! The cloth is new but the cushions might range fifteen or twenty years difference in age. Six cushions from six different tables make the tables into monsters.

There was a beautiful refurbished one for sale here in Chicago last year. I bet it played perfectly. I don’t remember the price but it seemed reasonable to me. $2k maybe?

I had no idea there were 7ft GCs. There must be 8s as well.
The 7' is not like the "real" gold crown. It's another manufacturer that Brunswick partnered with recently and changed a bit to their specs. Like Predator did with SAM. All that said, it plays perfectly, and is pretty as well.

Here is the link. They have a few options for the bill collector portion that changes the price.

Nice look. Chrome corners. But for those, looks Diamondish.

35 years of playing and I’ve never seen a 7 foot gold crown table. Not saying they don’t exist but it must be pretty damn rare. Lol

It’s looks like they copied a diamond with metal corners.. well I guess copying something is a form of flattery lol can’t beatem joinem

Here is what I wanna know:
WHO tied up Shackled, & put earphones on RKC ???
3 pages in,...... not a peep! (did I miss something?)

I have always known Diamond tables play a bit short for the bank. Four, five, six rails onna Diamond BB? If I have room to send whitey 5 rails around the table w/o hitting another ball; I'm pretty damn sure I have a better shot on the table. (just sayin')
Few ppl have mentioned ANGLES here, and nothing can "stall/limit" CB's speed like a reverse angle. If you try to apply more English, that will only make it worse. this is one of the reasons so many come up short on "Z" shots.
Anyway, I'm nowhere near PRO, but casual observation helps a lot.

RKC has been staying in the mechanics forum mostly.

Huh? There is not a single part of that table that looks anything like a Diamond, other than being rectangular.

If you say so.. pretty obvious to me. It’s the same thing the new valley is . Looks like a diamond with diamond type pockets.
