Diamond Bigfoot Ten Ball Challenge

Does this mean the field will be 12 instead of 16 as originally planned or am I misunderstanding?

Brent<-----Thinks it will be awesome regardless.

No, it means I have invited 17 players, so we are basically overbooked as of right now. Someone who pays their deposit (500) too late will miss the boat on this one.

I hear you watchez! But, beauty of invitational is the ability to use your judgement! Jay is obligated to put on the best show possible for accu-stats to sell. If Ralf can help them cover expenses better than Keith Bennett or Stevie Moore than they may be the ones holding the short straw and not Lee Van Corteza or Ralf Souquet!

Stevie Moore is IN also.

Gotcha. Sorry my reading comprehension was a lot better on English tests in high school than on this forum. :o

Please let Saez or Oscar not have paid yet. If we lose a top champ who has not paid yet from the field that would suck.

Shane, Dennis, Neils, Darren, Lee Van, Carlo, Busta, and Karl need to be in this. IMO they are the strongest guys and the clear 1st tier. The winner likely comes from this group. None of these guys would be a shock if they win. These guys all want to avoid each other and are virtual coin flips against each other.

Corey and Jayson make up a second tier in this field (and this is where Ralph would fall IMO at this stage in his career). They have a reasonable chance to get deep and be a threat. They would be a slight surprise if they get it done. Noone in the first tier really "wants" to have to play these guys because they can be very tough in any given match.

Bartrum and potentially Morra are darkhorses who could surprise people A quasi-third tier with guys who have a slim outside chance to win and would surprise people if they were to do so. Guys in the first tier are favorites, but they don't have to win if they don't show up with their A-game.

The rest are dead money and can only play spoiler IMO. They are in tough against anyone in the first two tiers and will lose most of the time in those matches and they are slight underdogs against the 3rd tier guys.

So here's how it looks now:

SHANE, DENNIS O., FRANCISCO, NIELS, DARREN, EARL, JAYSON, CARLO, STEVIE MOORE, CHRIS BARTRAM, JOHN MORRA, ROB SAEZ, OSCAR D., COREY, KARL and LEE VANN make up this year's field. Try to pick a winner out of this field. Good luck!

I'm very happy with the field we are putting together this year. A lot of strength and depth. And everyone belongs in an elite field like this! I try to make it a mix of proven tournament players and some of the best road men.

What a great line up. You have outdone yourself Mr. Helfert.

I kind of messed up here and left out Ralf Souquet, who had committed early to this event. He will be replacing one of the players, just not sure who yet. It will probably end up being the last guy to pay his deposit. I have 12 deposits or full entries paid already.

Who are the 4 guys that haven't paid?

Where would you rank Earl?

Where would you rank Earl?

He can be in any tier depending where his head is at from minute to minute. When he is focused and not imploding he is tier 1 and a serious threat to anyone. When he is on self destruct I think Oscar would beat him.

So lets add a tier 5 and say Earl is anywhere between tier 1 to tier 5 depending on his head.

If I had to pick the top 8 guys and give 3/1 odds on one of them winning Earl would "not" be one of my picks because I think it is almost impossible for him not to flake out some time along the way to the finish line.

What may end up happening is a two man playoff for the last spot. Greg and I will decide next week how best to handle this.

that would be a pretty cool prelim to stream for free to get people interested. a taste to get em hooked.

Jay when does money have to be paid by? I can pay tomorrow for a spot.. If the 4 dont pay i would offer the spots away.

On another note, I can then be in tier 10 and be the 500/1 outsider :)

Sorry, I can't quite follow with all the names thrown around. Who are the last two to vie for the last spot in a possible playoff? Like Grady used to say, what's the score so I can get a sweat?

Stevie Moore has withdrawn due a job conflict, so the rest of the field remains intact.
