DiLiberto face book

There are a few new postings on Danny Ds. facebook. It looks like he's probably in a nursing facility again and it doesn't look too good. I think that's probably his daughter there with him and he talks a little bit he's on camera.

That’s too bad. I hope the best for Danny. He has entertained me for many years.
I really enjoyed his playing years and his commentary for a long time.

danny could throw the cue ball a million miles, I have a friend who was born in 38 from Miami, Danny was born in 35. They go way back. My friend has told me some cool Miami stories over the years about Danny. Jays right, Danny has a lot of fight in him.💪💪

Gosh, he's 89 years old and will be 90 in February. I remember doing his Wikipedia page. His book "Road Player" is a good read, written by himself and Jerry Forsyth. He is in both the BCA and OnePocket.org Halls of Fame. Sending prayers to Danny and his family during this challenging time.

i’ve seen a million videos with Danny calling the game one time Kaci’s neck tattoo with the word ‘perfection’ was pointed out to him and he began a story saying how his dad would not let him get a tattoo because it would be easy to identify you and then he mentioned a story about his friend that almost went to jail for robbing a bank but he didn’t go to jail for robbing the bank because he was in line to rob the bank and a guy in front of him robbed the bank before him

My favorite Danny D story: A good friend of mine, the late "Little Petey" Goldsmith, used to run with Danny when he was in Miami and Petey was enrolled at UM. (Not that he ever went to many classes.)

Anyway, Danny was forever putting the bite on his friends, and one day he got Petey to loan him $500. But every time he ran into Danny after that, he'd always have an excuse for not paying it back. The best excuse came right after the word was out that Danny had made a score, and Petey promptly went to get his $500.

Only this time Danny, who was wearing some sort of disco pants, just pointed to his legs, and said. "Look at this----I ain't even got no pockets in my pants. How can I possibly be carrying any five hundred bucks?"

Petey always said that as far as he was concerned, that story was easily worth a thou. But I do think he eventually got paid.

Im sure this match gave Grady a lot of bragging rights with Danny.
Who won the final of the first Senior event ? Hall, Munson or Mathews.
I didn’t realize until the end it was Scott Smith in the booth, 😎.
Thanks

Also, in 2006, he was inducted into Buffalo's Boxing Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport.

😢 Danny was always a good guy.

I have a great story about him swearing at Scott Frost. Not many people have ever heard Danny say a swear word.

Danny and I were in line at DCC outside the tournament room when they had the snack bar then. Scott was behind us and had his case slung over his shoulder. His back was to us because he was talking to some people. He turned a few times and when he did he kept hitting Danny in the head with his case.

After the third time Danny poked Scott with his finger and said “Hit me in the head again and I’m going to knock you the Fuk out!” 😱🤣

Scott moved to the other side of his friends real quick.

Danny told me later…he was hoping…Scott would hit in the head one more time. 🤣

Prayers to Danny D 🙏🏻
