Do Gomez and Peach both use a Predator?

I was wondering
the same thing, but the other thread asking who Peach was has a link to his Eurotour page, and it did say he used a 314 shaft. I originally thought that Predator might just be a sponsor of the tournament in general. I don't know if Gomez does or not, but I would think the balance shift when putting on a 314 shaft would bother some pros, I know it does me.
Did you happen to notice the cue that Alcano was playing with. It was just a plain Jane maple cue with black phenolic joint, and I mean plain, rather blah looking?

If Alcano was using the cue that I think you are describing, it's a very plain Viking cue that was his brother's cue (now deceased). He plays with it out of sentimental value, IF that's the same cue. He told me about it when we played a tournament in 2002 so I don't know if it's the same cue.

It's totally off topic, but I started the topic so I guess I'm allowed. When I was a kid, about second grade, my Dad was working on the Denali Highway in Alaska. It really was more of a gravel/boulder road through the wilderness. There was a place on the side of a mountain near our camp site where somebody found some arrowheads and my Mother took my brother and I there a few times to hunt arrowheads. They looked like perfectly fine arrowheads and spearheads to us, but to the ancients who chipped them out of rock there must have been an imperfection of some kind so they would discard the ones that weren't perfect.
One day my brother, about kindergarten age, said "Mommy look at the big black dog". It wasn't a big black dog, it was a bear and that was the last time we went arrowhead hunting. I think my Mom still has some of those arrowheads in a box somewhere. I wonder how many centuries they laid on the side of that mountain before we found them.

I agree with this in principle... but not in practice. I think billiards is such a mental game that if people think they are playing with sub-par equipment, they will not play their best. This is a mental issue and has little to do with reality, but that does not make it less true.

I couldn't agree more. I TOTALLY admire the craftmanship and artistry of the custom cue makers. Many create true works of art.
But the supposed magical "hit" some cues are supposed to have (I think it is the $10.00 tip that hits the cue ball ) just simply doesn't exist except in the eye of the beholder and if they THINK it hits great, then it DOES hit great.
Alli Fisher has drilled the whole world with a stock $250.00 cue and as you point out, Efren can rob most players with a bar cue with a muschroomed tip.
No disrespect intended. I would LOVE to own a few $5,000.00 cues...but for their appearance and collector value and not because they would take my game to new levels...because they wouldn't.
I would be a total blast to conduct a Blind Feel test with TOP pros stroking shots with cues that had their butts wrapped with some thin cheese cloth or something so that the cue couldn't be identified.
Give them 2 top brand production cues and 1 super custom cue...all with the same tips and the odds of them picking the custom cue would be WAY lower than the 1-3 raw probability.
GENUINELY, I mean no disrespect to the GREAT custom cue artisans...nor would they care since most of them have multi-year waiting lists anyway!!!

I think Predator does a very good job of making sure that the players who make it to the final days of major events that Predator also sponsors are "properly" equipped and "logo'ed" up.

IT was ugly.
We jostled him about the domino rings it had. We asked him if they were made out of fingernail paint.
