An interesting idea was brought up on another thread with regard to who reads AZB.
This poll asks if you read AZB and where you rank in the professional arena. Many of us might find the results interesting.

The poll does not ask if you are male or female
The poll does not ask if you post here.
This poll only asks if you visit the AZB once a month or more.

Thanks for taking a minute to let us all know.

One list for males is here on AZB for the top 200.

One list for the top 106 WPBA women is here.

Sorry for the mis-spelling, I could not go back and correct.
Names, of any sort, are not collected

No offense intened but I doubt you get many to answer this either. The pros i have talked with and quite many don't pay much attention to AZ anymore.

not only that, we cant view the poll results without voting. I doubt many others on here are evan ranked in your lowest option in the poll.

Hey Joe I think you'll have to keep this bumped to the top quite a while to get many responses. Just looking at the lists I say about 20 women and maybe two dozen men have posted in the past. With the exception of Bartam and Schmidt most post very infrequently.

center pocket, if you log out you can veiw the results.

Not many are answering, but I know that a few pros know what is going on here. I have had phone calls from four about something I posted at some time or another, but most (of the very few I speak to) do not have accounts or follow regularly.

You can view the poll results by clicking on the "view results" tab under and to the right of the poll.

So far we have four votes. Looks like we have some pros who at least read here.

Or you have guys getting their kicks out of responding inaccurately.

Yeah there are two ways of looking at the world and there are those who can't pass a bucket without stirring it.

By and large internet polls are not all that accurate but they do give some insight. I think that 5 - 10% of the results are not useful. But then ...

Perhaps the poll should have asked if the pros keep up with what is on AZB - through a friend or by logging on.

If nothing else, we may have more information than we had before.

If we get 30+ responses then there are some pros who do at least read here -- that is one possible conclusion.

Just for the record. I have not voted as I don't apply in any of those categories, and I'm not dumb enough to get my jollies off on screwing up your well intentioned poll.

If you wanted to increase your sample size you could also ask if they currently or were previously ranked X.

I don't know if it is too late to change it, but can't you make a poll so you can see the names of who voted? Although that may discourage some pros from voting?

At least then you could make sure that pro pool player Travis Trotter, who recently returned, put in his vote!

If I am not mistaken, you have to have an account to participate in the poll. There are probably only 10-15 pros that have an account here. So the majority of the people who view the forum as guests will be excluded. My guess is this is most of the demographic that you intended to reach.

Personally I like the poll. I ask that question many times to myself. Accurate or not ..... I don't really care, I would not take anything I have read on the net as gospel;). There is a big difference between reading AZ and contributing to the board. I had the luxury of spending a few minutes with SVB at the top of the Stratosphere in Vegas this last spring, and I asked this very question. He said he did not have much time to read it but he did on occasion and said his family members contributed now and then.

Pros

Most pros, in my experience, have grown up on the street, so to speak. They have not been to college usually, and are not computer literate. The only reason they would search for AZB.com would be because of someone they knew that talked about it, and the information available on here.
Most rely on the old 'word of mouth' in their profession.

They would be interested in tournament info, other players and how good they play, who they beat, etc.., maybe cuemakers and their cues, new equipment out, and things like that.

But, I am thankful to their friends that steer them here. I enjoy their participitation very much, and they can learn that more people are interested in them than they ever thought.

Some guys and girls are pretty internet savvy and know what is going on here if something interests them. Generally the older school the player the less they know or care about the internet or the peoples opinions on it.

Word of mouth is still a powerful thing and if something important, inflammatory, or notable is posted you can rest assured whoever it is about will get the word one way or another.

Something that impresses me about this place is the number of people I meet who never post but know exactly what is going on. More people are paying attention than it seems sometimes.

Too many experts!!

I mean, you say "The pros i have talked with and quite many don't pay much attention to AZ anymore. " With that anymore you want to say before many pros were interested in azb, but now they are not. Why? Because of the arrogance of the so called "experts"?
