Do you want to make a living playing pool?

Heck no!

I don't see very many wealthy pool players. As much as I like the game there are easier ways to make more money.

I'm going against the grain...

I would like to make a living playing pool, with my sorry ass game, if it paid $150,000 + with a 6% dollar for dollar matching 401(k), health benefits, 5 weeks vacation and 10 paid holidays a year. Oh, and yearly raises and opportunity for growth regardless of placing in tournaments. Hmmm, sounds like a dream job. Something close to that, I think I could buy a motorcycle just for sh its and giggles.

I should also add that I would have this earning profile until age 62.

All in baby.

Rhea..You are obsessed with pool!.. No one with your limited ability can make a living playing pool!..You are wasting your life!..How many people need to tell you that?

There are none so blind as those who WON'T see.

Only if I could be in the top 3 as these guys make a somewhat decent living at it. But of course, nothing is for sure, so I'll keep my regular job, and play pool when I get the chance.

If you want make a living playing pool you're going to starve.

Now if you can develop your poker & golf skills as well as your pool game you can play all 3 & earn a comfortable living gambling on all 3. Diversify.

Exactly

would love to just play pool as a hobby.. preferably to have a table at home to enjoy my lone time on the table... it's nice to join tournaments but only to have fun and to get exposures and learning experiences...

I love Pool everything about it from the games to the equipment but I use it just as you described.

Chuck, Does it teach you how to get those pesky tow alongs that have all the billiard stuff in them?

What about quarters from car washes?

There are things I'm good at that make lots of money; like my business.

There are things I take very seriously and want to excel at that don't earn as much money; like automotive, pool, music, etc.

I want to play the best players and eventually become a true talent, but I wouldn't switch my career. Turning pool into an obligation would take the fun out of the game for me.

NO, by the last few weeks of leagues I hate having to be some where every week. I want to play at my leisure, if it was a job it would suck. I've noticed since becoming a cue dealer I don't play as much as I used to. I think I like helping people get what they want more then actually playing sometimes. Could be worse I guess.

Sounds like none of you ACTUALLY read what she linked to. This isn't for everyone; it's a revolutionary Sponsorship Package for (mostly) semi pro and pro players who are seeking major sponsorship outside of the industry. This isn't for everyone. If you'd like to know more, visit www.otwpromotinos.com, and you can see a REAL one at www.ChrisRobinsonSPK.com

Why should we. Her question was: Do you want to make a living playing pool? The answer to that question is two fold. No, and hell no.
