The intial question gets posted periodically and I don't believe it is ever answered. Where is he now and what is he doing? Anyone know?
That would be the Oak Hills Golf Course in Spring Hill. www.whitepages.com is your friend.... a big house on a golf course in FL. ...
Someone just baseball bat this guy into a pile of mush already so that instead of it making people mad thinking about him, people can smile that he FINALLY got his ass kicked.
Let justice be served.

I disagree Vag. He killed pro pool for the men! And lined his own pockets in the process.
Well, yes. A little time on google and such shows the house in Spring Hill was purchased on October 13, 1995 while the lawsuit (PBTA v. RJR) was filed in U.S. District Court on May 6, 1998. As I recall the lawsuit was not settled for at least a year.... I think he bought the house on the Golf course even before that check from RJR.
Okay. We know WHERE he is. Does anyone know what he DOES for a living now?

But what happened to the money from the settlement, which was said to be $800,000? At that time, I believe there was still $400,000 missing from PBTA prize fund payments, and I believe the players never received payment.
Jay,
Let us get serious for fairness. When you work as a tournament director at the big events do you work for free? Not even one player talked about providing remuneration for his (Don`s ) services but everybody says that he stole the money.do u that all that time he was the commissioner of pro Billiards tour he was not paid any salary?.How do you think he will be able to pay his Bills? was he supposed to be a slave to pro pool and was he required to work for free? do u know how many hours his wife Diane worked to maintain the PBTA office. Diane worked harder than any one I know in that business.NOT EVEN one player talked about paying salary to his work. But everybody said that he stole the money. That was not right.Didn`the players tried to free load on mackey`s sweat? As I said earlier I did not like every thing he did but let us be fair to him.![]()
And you don't think he got paid?? Really, I though you were a little bit smarter than that. The players paid association fees every year to the PBT and a surcharge on every entry fee for each tournament was also collected. In his final year in charge, he kept all the entry fees plus the gate at the last five events on the Camel Tour. There were also several industry sponsors who gave money to the PBT that year, to the tune of several thousand dollars per event (and in precious years also). NO prize money was paid out from those last five events and the players were left holding the bag.
Then there was World Team Billiards that was shown internationally on television. All the rights fees went to the PBT (aka DM). The players were paid in stock! HELLO! Plus the trading cards, autographed pool balls, shirts, hats and other assorted paraphernalia. Ask some of the players from that era what their cut was. And of course there was the aforementioned Balloon payment at the end from RJ Reynolds. 600+K!
