Eric, my friend, you are missing the point, sir. If IBA allowed this to not be aired, next time the guy did something like this it could be you he cheats and it could be for MUCH more cash.

I had until today never given anyone bad rep. I have now given it.

IBA, you did the right thing, if for no other reason than,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Now WE know. Thanks.
 
Of course you did the right thing IBA. As a one of the people that take sweat bets on here...I thank you. I have made over 50 bets and haven't got stiffed yet. BUT most of them I had to be the payee, yours included I believe...I'm easy. Johnnyt

Allright, please tell us the exact amount that is "enough" to justify a post.

$50? $100? $500? $1000? Please, enlighten us all. Where do you draw the line?

I took his post differently. I thought he was calling the guy that IBA bet with a loser for welching on a $50 dollar bet. I didn't think he was saying that IBA should not have posted this.

I may be wrong, but that is how I took it FWIW.

That's how I read it, too. Pretty cheap bet to welch on & get a lousy rep.

I think the fact that he hasnt responded shows that he never intends on paying his debt. I had a sale go south on here and did everything I could to try and make it right...and did. No response or communication usually means no class! You did the right thing IBA, thanks for the heads up. JMO.

agreed southpaw...he hasnt even posted and that speaks volumes.

what is really weak about this is that the clown STARTED a thread ASKING for the bet.

Was talking smack too: "Wow all the azz kissing and weird posts about Shane and nobody takes this bet"

And then he gets 30 games on the wire, (which took some heart from IBA to bet btw) and he stiffs him. Jesus H thats WEAK.
 
From what I hear on this forum as to how many get stiffed in the poolroom...I say the few that bet on here have been very lucky collecting. When I first started to gamble 55 years ago my Dad told me a few things.

Don't bet anything that isn't to have fun with. Don't bet big amounts you choke on in games of skill, you can almost always get the same amount off the guy in smaller bets if you do it right. One of the last things he told me was not to let anybody get away with not paying you., even if it cost you more than the guy owes you to find him and get your Money. It cost me 10 times more than what I was owed to collect $100 on a world series bet in the late 1950's, but no one in that area tried to welch on a bet with me again. Johnnyt

I usually go the other way if I'm screwed out of a small amount of cash (to keep my stress level in check), but I do respect your method as well, and may consider it from time to time.
