Don't Want Anyone To Know They Play BB

Nothing against barboxes (it's still pool so it's still fun on some level), but if I have the choice I will choose the 9ft table 100 percent of the time. As for watching the pros I'd also much rather watch them competing on bigger tables. They're so good there isn't much suspense anyway as to whether they might miss, but put them on a barbox (rotation games) and it almost eliminates it.

I played exclusively on BB's up until about 6 months ago. I like both, but when the time comes, I'll be putting a 9' in my house.

If I'm watching online, I prefer 9' or even a 10' table to watch over a BB.

The closest I get to the seven footers is when I need to step over them to get to the big tables;)

In reality I love pool and it does not matter what size the table is. The last time I played on a short track was at Buffalo billiards in Metairie, Louisiana. I was lucky enough to play the long lost member ShootingArts (Hu) and Joey A.

The smaller tables are a kick and I will start playing on them now that the front range is starting to see more Diamonds.
 
Not a fan of the bar boxes either. I can play on them just fine, but the big track is where its at. Ive always found it advantageous to be the player used to a bigger table when it comes time to play on a bb.

I will play on a diamond barbox each December to get ready for the Music City Open in January which is held on the same equipment... Other than that I try and stick to 9ft tables... The room here in Knoxville with the most tournaments is all Valleys and I have been in there maybe 4-5 times in the lat 1 year... To get cues worked on... Never to play simply because I don't like fisher price tables and avoid them if possible... After I got into it with the manager at the place where I play on the 9fts I waited 3 years for him to get fired... The whole time I drove over an hour one direction to play on 9ft tables... I never even considered playing at the bar box room....

I guess maybe I am a table snob but if it's valley BB pool or no pool at all... It's no pool at all....

Imo barboxes are fun, but big tables are funner.
 
I came across one in a bar out in the boonies.
Those countryside folk thought I was a pool-playing god.
 
Bar table, toys for kids and bangers, right.
action on the BB was pretty good in the 60's & 70's
every once in a while, quite often actually, someone who couldn,t win at 8 ball would want to switch 9 ball. Next you know it would turn into a ring game, 4,5,6 handed, 5,10,20 $ a man. No roll outs, no safeties, you shot to make the ball everytime or you better be wearing your helmet. You miss you could be busted before your next turn at the table.

I play on BB's 99.9 percent of the time. That's all there is around here anymore. You'd have to buy a bigger table here if you wanted to play on one!

There are people out here who believe pool should be played on 9 ft tables. Some of the people criticize bar tables because they want to change the market demand because given their choice, proprietors will always choose the small tables for logistics and money reasons. To an extent, I think some of these people are trying to get others riled up to feel the same way and change the market demand.

crap - i thought this was a thread of Bonus Ball.

our hall got rid of them 10yrs ago. everything is 9ft. Gate City Billiards has 2 i think - no one ever plays on them.

i grew up on them. but now that i've adjusted to 9fts, it throws off my game to switch back. plus, i'm taller.
