Um, it's on a news site. Not very family business like. It's not like the thread started talked to his mom and then posted an inside info story that was private. Anyone that does a search for his name would find this.

I am actually a bit interested in this as my kids used to watch Drake and Josh and probably would still if they caught it. I always liked that show, I thought Drake actually playing an instrument instead of just faking it on a show really added something to it.

Robin is a big pool star, the fact her son happens to be a pretty well known celebrity was really neat, but is in the pool world.

There was a thread about a bunch of pool players robbing change machines. Not very pool related either aside from the fact that those guys played pool. Heck, did they even play or just gamble around the players? This is the son of a pool player. All related.
 
I agree with Fran. This thread was totally unnecessary and contributed nothing to pool. Smacked of National Enquirer intellect.

Really? Many of us felt the same way when Robin started posting about Drake in the Main Forum. Asking us to go to these stupid Teen Sites and vote for Drake in Dumb A ss Hollywood popularity contests.

When she got a bit of flack for it, she started posting about Drake playing pool to try and make her posts seem a little legit.

Can't have it both ways. She wanted his name in the Main Forum. Now it is again.

Tought titty said the kitty when the milk turned shitty.

We don't have a problem ranking the Pros that come here and mess up. Same thing with Drake.

He will be far from broke

People out west buy a house for 2 million. It drops in value to 1.5 million. They just walk away from the mortgage and save the 500 k. 7 years later they can do it again. Idiots like me buy what they can afford and have to buy FHA mortgage insurance to cover those who live beyond their means. All this keeps the banks, politicians and rich happy. This is what America is all about.
 
A guy from my hometown was a boxer but unfortunately he boxed in the Cruiser weight class. HE WAS WORLD CHAMPION, and stupid me, thought about the millions that Tyson and all of these other guys were reported making made me think that this local boy really made good!

But his daughter and my daughter were the same age and best friends so we got talking about it. When he boxed out in Vegas, EVERYONE got a piece of him and by the time it was done, he only got like $50K. I was stunned, they numbers you hear about boxers are typically HEAVYWEIGHTS, and they did command a premium. But the Cruiser weight class never got that kind of money.

This guy was WORLD CHAMPION and ended up boxing in small town in the midwest. Again I asked him why. He said he could train and live at home verses Vegas, and the money was split by less folks and he ended up taking home about the same amount per fight.

So what does this have to do with the topic? Drake might have an agent and I bet he has alot of folks coming in getting a piece of his pie. He has to get a little smarter. As my grandfather used to say, "Any damned fool can make a dollar, it takes a wise one to keep it."

Sounds like Drake needs a little wisdom.

So, just to be clear in the future. If something is reported in the news, we are not allowed to start a thread or discuss such news items here on old AZB, you know, an internet pool chat forum :rolleyes:
 
It doesn't seem to me that folks here are disparaging Drake, more than the fact that he didn't use good judgement in his financial dealings. It really feels like most here sympathize with him, and hope things work out.

I don't understand why its in bad taste, so long as the above is true. It is pool related in that his mom is a Hall of Famer, and he is a public celebrity. (Not even accounting for all the times his mom talked his exploits up here on the forum.)

I, too, feel sad for him, and hope he gets back on track going forward. My kids really enjoyed the TV show, and from all accounts he seems like a good kid.
 
If a famous pool player's child came down with a horrible disease, and I posted a news item about it...would that be appropriate?

Some people would want to express their well-wishes. Some would offer prayers. Other people might say the child should have been vaccinated, or that he should have had better healthcare.

Pool is a small world.

You can post what you want and i can red rep if I feel it was done in poor taste. Robin is a member here and I don't think she needed to see this posted here about her son. He is a singer and a actor, he has only been playing pool about 1 - 1 1/2 years. :rolleyes:

How is sharing news deserving of a red rep? It may not be good news and I'm sorry to hear it but he is a celeb and people like to know this stuff. If Robin didn't want people to discuss he sons life she should have made sure he didn't become famous because people talk about famous people good and bad.
