Dropped two skill levels in less than 3 months

I don't know why my game is suffering so badly. Ever since I began working a full time job I dropped from a skill level 6 to a skill level 4. And even solid 4s are giving me a tough time. I have not booked 1 winner since I began earning a paycheck. I'm not sure if it's just because I know I'm fore sure getting paid at the end of my shift that's causing me to play with less enthusiasm or that I have less time and money and energy now than I had prior to working. But my game is on a downward spiral that might be unrecoverable.
 
You will have to rebuild paying more attention to PSR and Fundamentals instead of counting on being able to play your best game because you have been hitting plenty of balls....

Back off the play and start using the time to practice until you have refined everything you do at the table to the point that you pick up in the same place the next session you get...

Until you can pick up at the same place you left off in practice there is no way you will pick up and play at the same level matching up... Lots of players keep trying tho and you will find your stroke just enough times to remember and continue to lose more than you win......

What league can you drop more than one S/L?
 
I think that the winner you booked is the paycheck. If you give the game your best relative to the amount of practice you are putting in, then you should find pleasure in playing the game and can be proud of your efforts. Spend less than you earn and enjoy what you do. These are two key elements to enjoying life, IMO.
 
No offense, but you didn't have much game to lose to begin with.

Quit worrying about your game and focus on the fact that you aren't breaking and entering anymore to find a place to sleep since you finally have a real income.

I agree with Chris.

In addition, I have another thought about practicing and competing. When a person is playing a lot of pool, competitively (in action or in tournament play), they have a tendency to play at their higher level more so than those who don't play competitively as often.

In practice, one must simulate competitive pressure in addition to working on technique & fundamentals. There are many things to work on during practice, but if you leave off competitive pressure, your action matches and tournament play will surely suffer due to the fact that you aren't playing competitively as much as you once were. (Try playing the ghost with cue ball in hand after the break. If you can't beat the ghost with 9 balls, reduce the number until you can. Once you can beat the ghost, even if it is only with 3 balls, then add balls progressively and in this way you will always be striving and competing).

If you have less money since you started working that sounds like a problem.
