Now a days everyone that shoot pool in bars seems to bring their own two-piece cue with them. I’m going to buy a Dufferin Sneaky or a cheap two-piece that has some kind of logo on the butt, like Minnesota Fat’s and replace the shaft with a good one. My thinking is most casual players in bars that gamble know a Sneaky Pete when they see one. Wouldn’t the logo one be better for bar hustling now a days? What do you all think? Johnnyt

One of these beauties ....

Hey, that's Jimbos cue ! .... or it should be .... JBJC, send him one will ya ?

Johnny, the Dufferin Phantom (sneaky pete) has the pin in the shaft and the insert in the butt, which is reverse compared to 'conventional' cue construction. One alternative might be to get a cuemaker to retaper the original Dufferin shaft, from the factory they are a straight-tapered pole (and as a result make a great break cue, imo). Then, if it's still too nice looking, apply hockey or duct tape to the handle  Of course if you want to fancy it up I have a great technique for adding paper hoppe rings

The logo cue to be certain!

Most of my friends know what a Sneaky Pete is by name and couldn't tell you anything else about pool except that the "felt" is green.

i forgot the cue makers name but there's a guy out there that sells custom cues that look like budweiser cues

ive got one of those. Its a 20$ budweiser cue from spencers and I had willie of williecues put a custom shaft and a 3 8/10 pin in it and a sniper tip. I carry it around in those see through plastic sleeves that hold cues.

Works like a charm.

Hustlin' . . .

So we're banging balls around one night and some blonde comes in with guy on her arm and a pair of assets anyone would kill to get their hands on. Absolutely smokin' and I'm not talking cigarettes. The guy's got a high end case and a cue you could see the inlays sparkling in from across the room. One of my buddies figures he's the typical big money no game shooter and heads off to stir up a game. Of course we work our way over to watch . . . the blonde that is.

So he get's the guy for like $100. The guys actually got a smile on his face as he walks out. My buddies like "What an idiot , it's like he's happy about losing 100 bucks".

I'm like "Mmm , I think he's smiling cause you got the $100 and he's still leaving with the blonde. "

True story.

:)

I have a Excalibur decal cue with a Jacoby shaft on it that you can have for $65 + shipping, I'll even throw in the old shaft in case you need a tomato stake

I am in the process of making my sportcraft a better player. I am wanting to put a milk dud on it but just don't know how. Never put a tip on before. But I did manage to sand all that crappy coating off the shaft and made it really smooth. Once that is good to go, I will post pics of it. Can't beat a sports craft that plays decent right? :D It was really my very first cue my dad bought me when I was really young and wanted to learn how to shoot. Just something to bang around with. To my surprise, it actually shoots decent.

You're makin more karma Johnnyt. The next one will be the fist w/knucks. Then?

The answer is not in hiding your speed. It's in advertising the honest product, giving the necessary spot...... and still winning.

Johnny, I don't think it would be a problem, next time, win more games at the bar and offer to buy them drinks, when you offer to buy people drinks, it for some reason make them feel good lol.

Progress on the milk dud on sportscraft cue...
I sanded the shaft down to get all the coating off. The wood was cheap, went from 80-100-600-1500grit sand paper, than used a pack of Q-smooth on it, and sealed it up with some cue wax. The shaft actually feels pretty damn good.

As for the tip, I unscrewed the screw on tip off to show the bare plastic ferrule.
-Milk Dud
-Loctite Gel
-Razor
-Various grit sand paper
-Willard Dime tool
-Sandman shaper
-Piece of leather
and I had the tip on in about an hour. During the process of spreading the gel on the tip, I accidently had a bit of glue on my finger and it glued my tip to the finger in under 10 seconds, so becarful guys :D.

This is my first tip I have done, not to mention it is on a sportscraft Cue with very limited tools, no cue top sander or Porper Big Shaver... will edit with pics later.

I've got one of those and it rolls dead straight or at least it did the last time I pulled it out of the case. Doesn't look like much but it hits em alright. Pretty good pawn shop find.

I wound up buying a Viper cue with ajustable weights. You can ajust it for every shot. I figure between the weights and sharking them by changing them every other shot, it should work for me. Johnnyt going to get decked again, I can just feel it. Oh well, they won't get no cherry...I've been decked by some of the best over the years. That's why my ring name was "Canvasback". Johnnyt

I have a very old Tim Scruggs Sneaky..I pulled the whole label off a Coors Light bottle and stuck them on the butt....clear coated the butt and presto....High Dollar Coors Light Sneaky Pete:cool:

I have a cored Coors Light cue with a McDermott shaft re-tapped with a 3/8 10 pin for it. Nice......

I had Scorpion cue, Had the pin changed to a 3/8x10 and took a old D series Mcdermott shaft with Ivory ferrule and had it matched up. Hits and plays real good.
